Upper Coliban Reservoir — Attraction in Tylden

Nice spot for a walk along the dam wall - public toilet - a few picnic tables and chairs but no roofs / sun protection - not an ideal spot if you want a table, seats & shade on a hot & sunny day (there’s one tree on grass that provides shade but you’d need a picnic blanket and / or your own chairs) - if you want that there’s 2 other spots, one near the river down below the dam & the other on the opposite side of the reservoir on a hill (you’ll need to drive there), however no toilets in those 2 spots. Stand next to the dam and shout into it - the echo is extraordinary & the kids will love it. Lots of flies & today there were about 10...

Plenty of places to launch your kayak, nice for a day paddle. Water can be quite muddy. Fishing wise your looking at mainly carp with the very occasional trout. If your fishing from the bank it can be a very slow day. Kyneton township is close with takeaway and pubs available to get a meal. Not bad for a day trip...
