Definitely a nice spot to visit at daytime...not so much when you are camping there and youngsters try to impress each other driving their noisy 4WD on a Fri or Sat night there. More worryingly, people struggle to get out of the whirlpool produced under the right waterfall and get absorbed into it by swimming too close to it. No warning signs, no life jackets or lifebouys nearby to help struggling swimmers, no Wifi or possibility to call emergency services. When you go for a swim stay in safe distance and make sure your kids don't get to close - its really dangerous and Council needs to act urgently on the safety if that...

The river itself is lovely and crystal clear waters. The campsites are trashed and mostly dirt, overly packed during public holidays, and people fly down the dirt roads, making it extremely dangerous for kids. We had so much broken glass on our site. Even after attempting to pick it all up, there were shards scattered everywhere.

It was quite disturbing at 2am with cars beeping and speeding down the road screaming racial slurs. The police presence was heavy over the 2 days there, police went by at least every hour.

Also, leeches. Beware of the leeches when stepping into...

I was up there for the Australia Day weekend. I would never go back there again for any public holiday. The police were there 3 times in the 4 days we were there to either kick people out or arrest people. The parties were going on until 2-3 in the morning and all the p platers were thought they were rally drivers. The rangers did a good job but there is only so much they could do. One idiot lit an lpg cylinder and another one was threating people at different camp sites. The site and area was good for camping, but not for people who want to enjoy...

CAUTION: Depending on the water level lady’s well can be safe or extremely dangerous for swimming near the waterfall, it has a habit of creating a air-rated vortex at the bottom of the falls when the water level is up, you’ll see the water from second one being dragged backward into the main falls and a large patch of bubbly water. it’s ill advised to swim upto the falls in these conditions as you will be forced underwater and may get stuck in non buoyant water unable to escape. Other than that stunning set of falls and lovely coloured water.

Great Waterhole for a refreshing swim on a hot day. There is a network of spots down the river if the main one is too crowded. Remember he goggles for the kids so they can look around at the small fish, tadpoles, and occasional eel. Also take the repellent as the march flies can be pretty aggressive in the later afternoon in summer. Camping is limited but pretty good. No mobile reception, no water and a drop dunny is the only luxury.

Well worth the visit ✨ Our visit was during the winter which was great in the fact we had the entire gorgeous views and photo opportunities to ourselves! Looking forward to revisiting during the summer time! • Definitely recommend wearing hiking boots if you are climbing the rocks extremely slippery as expected • Plenty of camping grounds around the Chichester State Forest with ample ammenities also !
