We just had the best Christmas break we have had in a long time away in our caravan at Valla Beach Holiday Park. Who knew this place existed? You are spoilt for choice as to where to swim, the pools, deep creek or the beach. The beach isn't patrolled and when we were there it was lovely, but you do swim at your own risk. Deep Creek is tidal as it connects to the ocean, so was perfect to relax in. Bring a float or stand up paddle board and you can just float around. And pack a fishing rod, there are plenty of fish, my daughter even caught a baby prawn in her hat!! You know when you go to caravan Parks and they give you the WiFi password and you may as well not bother, not this caravan parks wifi, it was brilliant, we were able to watch movies in our van via our fire stick, in the evenings without it dropping out, unless there was a storm, but that's expected. It is a busy van park but the sizes of the sites are huge and you really dont notice that there are a few people there. We never had an issue with the bathrooms being full ever. There is an on-site van that sells hot food and coffee's and the reception has bread milk and ice creams. The park is undergoing some renovations and we look forward to seeing what the new additions will be added, and look forward many more holidays at Valla Beach Holiday Park.

We are staying here right now with two small kids and a toddler and are very disappointed. For 80$/night on a powered site this is way too expensive for what they offer. The place has no shade at all: the pool area (needs to be updated) has ONE sun lounger and not a single spot of shade. The amenities are clean and ok. But the „camp kitchen“ is a disgusting- the outdated BBQs are falling apart, rusty and very dirty as well as the toaster. Overall the „camp kitchen“ (don’t really want to call it that way) is not very welcoming. Washington machines are new but with 7.4$ the most expensive we have ever had (and we have been to a lot of parks already). The park has a boat ramp and a lookout- both in very bad conditions, the lookout (which would be fun for kids) is even closed due to its condition. I would be okay with paying like 30 or maybe 40$ but not more. It’s just not worth the money.

We had a 7 day holiday booked in Nambucca Heads (family of 4) from the Sunday, we decided to try and get accommodation from Friday night. We stumbled across the new villas available at Valla Holiday park and were blown away by their layout, quality and design. The villa is so spacious, we were able to fit a portacot in the second bedroom. The furniture is so comfortable and elegant, we researched them for our own home. These new villas are beautiful and so well priced. The park is so conveniently located with the river and beach just a walk away. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The possum tuckerbox has delicious food for breakfast- dinner and is so convenient for families with small children who don’t want to dine out. We wished we booked our whole holiday at Valla holiday park rather than Nambucca, however will be back to stay again. Very impressed.

My rating of the rooms is based on the older cabins on the water front. They are verrrry old and worn. The bunk beds desperately need to have their screws tightened, they wobble dreadfully and make the most awful squeaking sound at the slightest movement. Recommend bringing mattress toppers for comfort if you’re staying longer than a few nights or if you have anyone older than 10 sleeping on the bunks. The bathroom in our cabin was dreadful, with no window or fan, it constantly felt wet and humid. The towels never dried. I was constantly killing ants and other bugs due to having no fly screens on the door.

The air con, hot water and big veranda were all highlights.

The positives about this side of the park with the older cabins is the space… so much space and grass between each cabin. You can’t hear anyone else and have plenty of privacy.

The pools are great but there is no shade. Why?? Highly advise bringing an umbrella that can attach to the pool fence or sun lounge or else you just roast. Every single person comments on it when you’re around the pool ‘where’s the shade??’. Another downside of the pool is that there’s no access code or key required, so it’s frequented by local teens whose behaviour leaves a lot to be desired (swearing, wrestling, yelling out inappropriate things).

The laundry block is great with new washers and dryers that take payment by card.

Food van on site is interesting… be sure to ask for wait times before ordering! I sent my son to buy a small hot chips, there was no one at the van. Apparently they’d just had a big phone order for seafood baskets… so instead of cooking one single order of small hot chips, my poor kid waited 45 minutes while they fulfilled the phone order using one fryer..

The creek is simply beautiful and the new bridge over to the beach is lovely to walk on.

Overall a very enjoyable and...

This was our second stay at Valla Beach and it will be our last.||||The park location is amazing - the beach and the inlet are nothing short of beautiful.||||But that's where it ends.||||Key Points from our stay:||||The amenities are outdated and poorly maintained (tap handles in showers falling off, tiles siliconed on, door locks that dont lock without banging them). There seems to be little if any cleaning done and the constant stench of Urine lingers in the air with the facilities. Hand washing Soap was unsupplied for 2 weeks.||||Waste areas are constantly overflowing with rubbish all over the ground, which doesn't assist with the flies and attracting the local wildlife and vermin for a quick feed.||||There is no security at all. Visitors from inside and outside the park roam through and party all hours of the day and night and theft is a daily occurrence - make sure all of your equipment and bikes are well chained.||||The park managers are non-existent - seen once during the stay and only due to an altercation between campers. Planning of the campers within the park is a shambles - multiple people staying on various sites, tents within tents and minor cities are created which are haphazardly placed between caravans and families. This all leads to a breeding ground of animosity and arguments. No one seems to be completing daily checks on the goings on of the park or who is on what site.||||All in all, beware - this park is an absolute free for all thats frequented by inebriated people and if that's what you're after then have fun here - many likeminded people will not be returning to the park unless major changes are made and some sort of security / screening / management of sites is completed and followed up with the removal of campers who break the...
