A must see place for every Australian & tourists too. Excellent facilities - camping, day trips, long trips, telephone (but no wi-fi), toilets, ample parking, etc. The road is sealed & in perfect condition. Please be aware that it's steep, narrow & has plenty of sharp turns - unsuitable for caravans & other clumsy vehicles. Beware the cattle before you enter the mountain. The waterfall is great, but you need some amount of good luck to have good visibility. Afternoons are better than early mornings - the fog & clouds may take several hours to burn... Make sure you take the 2km track to the base of the falls - it's steep but we'll worth the effort. It will be great if the park management consider making another track around the Stony creek area (near the camp) which is very pretty & can be very safe too) Well done for all people who made this place accessible to all of us. Make sure you buy your camping permit in advance - there is no internet or other coverage over there, & e-permit is...
Read moreSomething for the active and lazy adventurer alike. Hey my fellow Aussies don’t be fooled by the short 1.7km hike down you’re going to have to hike back up don’t forget! Also there’s no ‘lookout’ “just a couple of hundred meters down the track, it’s like 2/3’s that way down take some damn water and appropriate footwear. I was disappointed to see some overweight parent in thongs/flip-flops taking their overweight children down there also in flip-flops without ANY water?!! Seriously 😐. Note: the rocks at the bottom are seriously slippery and large make sure you know what you’re capable of before trying for the ‘main’ waterfall lagoon instead of the smaller pools. Don’t be stressed out by the potential for a tough hike back up though just allow at least 2.5hours for the return journey if it’s been a while for you or you’re not the fit healthy adventure type. Now with that said grab your water bottle and good shoes and get down to the bottom it’s...
Read moreBeautiful waterfall! The way down is definitely worth it. Good shoes are really necessary as you're walking through mud and over rocks on an angel. Also take at least a water bottle as you'll need it but pack your backpack light in general (We took some lunch to have at the bottom) Saw a lot of people wearing thongs turning around as they thought it was gonna be a paved walkway all the way down( it only is for the first about 300m). The walk down was easy it took us about 45mins including taking lots of pictures. The way up was more challenging as it was more exhausting to walk the steep path upwards, took us about 30 mins. On top there is a couple parking spaces and toilets available. Wouldn't recommend for huge caravans as the last ~ 20 kms up to the falls are a winding road which isn't built very spacious. Last fuel and food possibilities are in Ingham I think so...
