This location is truly tops ! Well worth the effort after a 17km drive accessed from turning off the Lakes Way onto Sugar Creek Rd . The trail is mostly an unpaved dirt road that can be traversed with a decent vehicle. I drove my 2 wheel drive D-Max in dry conditions and the most challenging part was the final incline literally a couple of hundred metres from the final destination. The panoramic views of the ocean , beaches and bush land are nothing short of breathtaking. The lookout has a table and seats for a picnic . Please use the bins or take your rubbish back home with you . Thoroughly recommended for an outing but be mindful to take plenty of bottled water and be prepared to lose phone reception at some parts of the drive & plan your trip accordingly with...
Read moreDiscovered this place by chance.Amazing views. To get to the lookout a car with Abit of clearence is needed as there is 1 large hump near the top of the trail. There is few opportunities to turn around if you're car is to low. Many of these reviews mention 4wd ,however an AWD with road tyres was capable (it was dry weather ) . If you don't own a AWD or 4x4 I wouldn't recommend going up the road to the lookout as you could damage your car. The entrance via Thomas road was good fun in a soft roader .The entrance from lake way leads to a well maintained unsealed road that would be fine for any car (in dry weather) .You can reach a short walk in the wallingat NP from this entrance and on the way there drive amongst towering gum trees...

Drive right up to Whoota Whoota lookout and prepare to be amazed. Peer out one way and you can see the vast stretches of eucalypt forest that make up much of the park. Look in the other direction and you can see the expanse of Wallis Lake as well as the winding, rugged coastline.
If you’re lucky, you might also see the sea eagles that like to soar here. Don’t forget your camera, because this is one view you won’t want to miss. There’s also a picnic table here if you want to dine with the best natural view of the Barrington Coast as...
