Whilst exploring around the Dwellingup region we decided to stop at Drakesbrook wines to try their wines and possibly purchase a couple of bottles. The entire experience was weird and not at all welcoming. What appears to be the front entrance is in fact the front door to the owners private residence. The outside seating area is very small not particularly attractive and on;y views over a rather unattractive dam (not a vineyard in sight). There is a sign saying dogs are welcome, but the owners have their own very large and very loud dog, which is inside the house which is above the cellar door. Every time it caught sight of our old Labrador it went off, which didn't exactly create a peaceful environment. However, our main criticism is the customer service. The lady behind the counter who I assume was one of the owners was noot the least bit friendly, and the bloke was barely any better. After ordering a couple of wines, which we served in plastic cups (really???), we sat down outside and that was the last we saw of the owners / staff i.e., not once did they come out to ask us if we liked the wines or would like to order any other wines. After finishing our wine, which unfortunately we didn't find particularly good, we left. Even if we had liked the wines, we were not going to reward poor servive and a very ordinary experience by buying their wines. Definately the worst winery we have ever visited. I have no idea how they have such good rating unless they are...
Read moreBernie and Trish are great hosts and very welcoming. We loved our five night stay in our caravan on their delightful property. It was quiet and peaceful, with a huge variety of both native and farm animals to keep us amused, especially “the girls” who loved pecking gently on our legs. There are some great walks down to the river nearby. Added to that was a private wine tasting that didn’t disappoint! We can highly recommend this wonderful stay to others. Rob &...
Read moreWe found this gem of a spot online and drove out to explore it on a winters day. It was just magnificent. The wine was delightful, they had nibbles available. The owners are lovely and friendly. Our children played on the lawn with the toys they had on site and my husband and I got to relax and soak up the gardens and view. Can not recommend this spot enough! Check it out... You will not be disappointed, you'll just wish you could...
