Great! It's been a little while since we'd been out here. Loving the new toilets, and the way they've fenced off the campsites to protect the flora. Love the fact that it's still free and dog friendly. Keep up the good work. Update. To all those that complain about the mobile reception my question is which company are you with? We are with Telstra, the only way to go outside suburbia in Tasmania, and get reception. Admittedly you have to walk/drive to the high points to get it. But that's no biggy. As for the state of the road. It's great compared to what it used to be, and we used to go in a Kia Rio with trailer no problems on what it used to be. Updated 01/03/2022 Just spent nearly three weeks out here. Missed out on the spots we would have preferred due to it still being very busy. But that was no problem. It was fire restriction season, and there is plenty of signage to let you know, but a few people don't think that applies to them. Yes, I know that's one of the pleasures of camping, but hey, the restrictions are there for a reason, and my autism doesn't deal well with people not obeying the rules. Apart from that, a pleasant, relaxing time was had. The most strenuous thing I did, besides setting up camp, was to walk up the hill for internet and phone reception, as we had a few things going on. We weren't in a four wheel drive, but the road was fine for our old Falcon wagon and trailer. The toilets are still way better than the old long drops. Just remember to put the lid down, and latch the door when you leave. Oh, there are toilet brushes provided too, for when you make a mess, and some do. Thoughtful touch. We're looking forward to getting out here again, especially with our new dog. Happy camping.

Although we didnt camp there, we explored a little bit. A lot of spots, aside from the Village Green were a little tight for caravans. Road in to Waterhouse Point campsites was completely fine. Just rough gravel road, a bit rutted in spots but completely fine for 2WD. Some of the road at South Croppies is 4WD and a little sandy for 2WD. At the end of the Waterhouse Lake campsite it was a bit sandy also. I think id like to camp near Waterhouse beach access one time or there was ine spot overlooking Croppies Beach (South) which had magic views as pictured.

Its the best 2 days we spent in Tasmania We planned to stay here only for one night, but ended up extending it for another night Secluded camping spots ensuring privacy Private like beach access Out of the world scenery Water at perfect temperature and depth for swim Turquoise sea Free Convenient Toilets Roads leading to the spots are bit tricky so drive slow and enjoy the views

It's January long weekend It's covid and every known free camping area reserve is full .. Waterhouse has a couple of nice free camp areas but if you like to be on your own like myself forget it it's sardine city...caravans boats trailers generators it's hectic and quite frankly not that good both in scenery and enjoyment of the place....no facilities apart from one toilet to a whole camping area. ...no water or phone...
