Went for lunch with friends today and the food was quite good, not exceptional, but it was overpriced for the serving size. We all had the feast at $58 a head, so almost $240 between 4. On calculating the prices of the dishes we got, 2 not on the menu I think that it would have been lucky to amount to $240. In comparison to recently eating at a fine dining establishment in Melbourne (Maha)with a comparable cost of $60 per head and very generous serves of food as well as extras not charged for, you guys need to really think about what you are charging and serving to your customers. It's not a problem paying $60 for a meal, but when you leave not really satisfied then that's a problem. People can ill afford to blow money on such a meal in the current economic climate. A pumpkin and sundried tomato pastry should not cost $38, the substitute dish for having the vegetarian feast is not worth it at all. Sadly...
Read moreDined at Nicol’s Paddock last night and wow what a beautiful restaurant. We had a group of 8 people, including 2 vegans and had the Feast menu. They were easily able to cater for the vegans and non vegans. They actually have a separate vegan/vegetarian menu which has plenty of options and was greatly appreciated. The food was absolutely phenomenal, wasn’t a single item which wasn’t cooked to perfection with the most delicious flavours. One feature my husband and I noticed was that they had acoustic sound absorbing pads on the roof which absorbed the noise really well. Could hear all the people on our table well but didn’t notice any talking or noise from other tables or kitchen. Very well designed and beautiful venue.
