This is a great walk the scenery is glorious and the fish and chip shop on on the beach at Gerringong is worth a visit. The walk is not a flat walk, it is not on a concrete path, it is an undulating dirt path. So wear good cross country walking or hiking shoes, carry a raincoat and a warm hoodie, South Coast weather can change very quickly, take at least a litre of water, think about taking a thermos of hot coffee, tea or soup, in a small backpack, and a snack . There are numerous spots to sit rest and enjoy the view, the track can get wet and slippery. You can also get a taxi back to Kiama or back to Gerringong, depending on which town you leave your car at, also there is a train service between Kiama and Gerringong. So why not catch the train from Sydney to Kiama, it goes through the National Park and along the coast with a bit of inland scenery, hop off at Kiama and do the coastal walk to Gerringong and the catch the train back to Sydney. Better still stay overnight in Berry, Gerringong, or Kiama. Gerroa has a great camping ground on the inlet and there is a great club and restaurant within walking distance. However the train does not stop at Gerroa, and it is a long walk from Gerringong to Gerroa, you can get a taxi there and back, the train only stops at Kiama and Gerringong. Of course it does stop at other stations but Kiama and Gerringong are the two important ones if you are...
Read moreThe Gerringong to Kiama Coastal Walk is a breathtaking experience, offering stunning ocean views, rolling green hills, and fresh sea air. Today, we set off on this scenic adventure with family and friends, enjoying perfect weather and plenty of laughter along the way.
Starting at Werri Beach, the trail took us along rugged cliffs and open farmland, with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. The sound of crashing waves and the sight of seabirds soaring above made the journey even more special. Along the way, we stopped to take photos, spotting dolphins playing in the distance and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
The steep climbs and grassy tracks provided a good challenge, but the incredible views kept us motivated. The highlight was reaching the Kiama Blowhole, where we were treated to a spectacular water spray as the waves crashed into the rocks.
After several hours of walking, we arrived in Kiama, feeling both accomplished and refreshed. We rewarded ourselves with a delicious meal at a local café, reflecting on the beauty of the coastline and the memories made.
This 12-kilometer coastal walk is a must-do for nature lovers, offering an unforgettable mix of adventure, exercise, and...

There were so many different age groups doing this walk. Kids, babies in pushers, adults on bikes, kids on bikes, young kids, teenagers, families, older than us people, lady with walking stick, fit people, unfit people etc. We walked up the first hill and I’m like, oh my I hope it’s not all like this and to my surprise it was. I found for the next week my knee was extremely sore but on flat surface I can walk 11 ks. We only walked 7ks return. But well worth the effort on a...
