A whole bunch of us went beach camping here. If I had done more research it would have been a better experience, so here’s some tips: To get here we headed to Leaning Marri campground and deflated our tyres here. Go right down to 10-12 psi and you’ll be alright. From Leaning Marri there’s plenty of signs to the beach, followed by white posts. From here we drove through one car lane forrest, so be careful at the turns and honk to indicate that you’re coming around the bend. Then the ground became sandier and softer and you’ll need to go through one big hill and then just follow the road that leads you to the beach. The road is really bumpy with lots of unexpected dips. Make sure your load is secured well. When you get to the beach, I suggest placing some sort of road mark or a flag so you know which track leads you back to town. From the beach coming from south direction (the river) this track is hidden behind a hill, easy to miss. The beach itself can be rough and very wavy at times but one morning we had a low tide and the first 100 m of the water feels like a lagoon. Amazing! If you’re camping, drive south towards the river, there’s plenty of spots beach front just before you hit the river mouth. You need to be self sufficient and take your rubbish with you when you leave. Great experience overall.

I love this place more than anything. The place is stunning in views. It is a beach that only four wheel access can get to. The beach is quite wide and long. Followed by a river coming out to the ocean at certain times of the year. The ocean is pretty much always rough so it's hard to swim in although the river does sort of create lakes around it that are flat and good to swim in during summer. Just watch out the sink sand!

Awesome place to get away from it all. Be 100% self sufficient and you will have an awesome time. Had a big group but there is camp sites big enough. Had the best weather ive ever had in my visits down there. Also had a visitor through our camp site.

What a drive !! We had been told about the dunes and were a little apprehensive about heading out on our own but realised that there plenty of other 4x4 vehicles to help if we needed (Thank goodness we didn't). Easy access and a lovely spot for a picnic before you hit the dunes. PLEASE DEFLATE YOUR TYRES B4 you headonto the track!!!! (There is plenty of ropm, but there were idiots that decide to see how far they could get B4 they needed to air-down...almost blocking the track for 3 vehicles returning. REALLY GUYS!!! Even so, it was a great afternoon and well worth the drive. remember drive to the conditions! Show a sand flag and...
