Went Quad biking today and the slogan "Rule the sand" should have been replaced with "Get treated like a toddler." From the beginning, the instructors failed to introduce themselves, and the male instructor only engaged with a specific couple, which sadly echoed a common experience for people of colour like myself.

There was no prior indication that there would be a division into fast and slow groups. It was my first time experiencing ATV ride but I do like a thrill and don’t mind being in the fast paced group. I found myself in the slow group with a female instructor after the male instructor speed off with the couple. Once I became comfortable with the ATV, riding at a slow pace became tedious, although I respect those who prefer it.

I asked to join the group of fast riders, which I quite enjoyed. However, the male instructor criticised that I wasn’t following his path. You get reminded of speed limit being 40 km/hr and how we got to respect the cultural land multiple times. And I get it. But the male instructor was pretty much going way over 40s because when I was riding close to 40, I could barely keep up with his speed. I don’t know if the 40s rule was just for rider and not the instructor. I was again asked to join the slow group and you pretty much feel like a grandma in a supermarket with an electric scooter.

A lady rider ahead of me was riding slowly and wandered off course onto a different path. I stayed on the designated path and followed the lead of the lady instructor. However, she reprimanded me for overtaking, emphasising the rule against passing slow riders, a rule that had been reiterated numerous times.

As adults seeking adventure, not babysitting, we paid $120 per person for an experience promised as "ruling the sand." I can pay to Karen’s diner if want to experience rudeness and ignorance.

Best best best company ever. I booked Quad bike with Quad bike king company on Friday 12th april 2024 but I had an unfortunate accident during the driving of quad bike. It was my mistake I did a sharp turn and the quad bike rolled over me. My body was hurt but thankfully nothing major happened. Everyone on team made sure I was okay. They kept consoling me throughout the time and very well took care of me. I was scared and I thought I would never try again but since I was heading back to gold coast on Sunday, I asked them if I can try quad bike again one more time using the same old ticket. They not only let me ride again but were also kind enough to refund me the amount in full. When I went again today(sunday 14th april 2024) they give me flowers, card and chocolates as a sweet gesture and they made sure I was comfortable enough to try again. Out of everyone, Paul the most senior person on the team was specially assigned with me the whole time to properly guide me and made sure that I enjoy the experience. He honestly made everything smooth and made sure my fear and hesitation was finished before I leave. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.
