If you're looking for an unforgettable ski getaway in the heart of Australia's Snowy Mountains, the Ski Rider Hotel is hands down the best place to stay! From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for an exceptional experience. First, the location could not be more perfect! Situated just minutes from the ski slopes, it’s a dream for anyone who wants to hit the mountains early and be among the first to carve through the powder. The hotel offers easy access to the slopes, so you're not wasting time commuting – it’s all about making the most of your time on the mountain. The rooms are cozy, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. After a long day of skiing, there’s nothing better than unwinding in the warmth of your room, which is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. The beds were very comfortable, and the view of the snow-covered peaks from the window was just breathtaking. The staff at Ski Rider Hotel really makes this place stand out. Friendly, approachable, and genuinely interested in making your stay as enjoyable as possible, they go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcome. From the front desk to the bar staff, everyone was helpful and offered insider tips about the best ski runs and local attractions. The restaurant and bar were also top-notch. Whether you’re enjoying a hearty breakfast to fuel your day on the slopes or winding down with a hot chocolate (or a glass of something stronger) after a thrilling day, the food and drink options were fantastic. The cozy lounge area by the fire is perfect for relaxing, chatting, and swapping skiing stories with fellow guests. For après-ski, the atmosphere is unbeatable. There’s a lovely vibe in the hotel with live music, relaxed surroundings, and an excellent selection of food and beverages. Plus, the convenience of having a ski hire and storage service on-site made everything so much easier. Overall, Ski Rider Hotel truly embodies everything that makes a ski trip special: fantastic location, excellent amenities, friendly service, and a warm, welcoming environment. Whether you're a seasoned skier or a first-timer, this is the place to be in the Snowy Mountains. I’ll definitely be returning – it’s impossible not to fall in love...
Read moreThank you to the most genuinely kind, accommodating and just wonderful staff who ensured our first Australian snow trip was perfect! The room comfortably fit all 4 of us, luggage and boards, and the lovely hot shower in the ensuite was very welcomed! The food and drinks were amazing - taste, variety and service. Sitting in front of the fire to enjoy happy hour (especially the Snowball cocktail - perfection Jules!) and play board games after a day boarding was heavenly. The location is divine, and the arcade room and awesome range of board games available to borrow meant to kids were never bored. The equipment to hire was in excellent condition, and the staff were fantastic and patient in ensuring we had everything we needed (including a re-fitting to skis for our 6 year old on day 2 - thank you!). The shuttle service up to the ski fields was reliable and runs regularly - thank you Chris and Carter for being so accommodating, joyful and helpful with equipment! As amazing as it all was, the staff and their engagement with us, keenness to help and delightful dispositions is the most memorable part. Every staff member we had contact with greeted us with genuine smiles, and made us feel welcome. Thank you to every member of the staff - and well done to the hirer! From Mia, Kaisha & Rebecca at reception (including wonderful communication prior to our trip to check that we had our lift passes, hire form complete, and also the most hassle-free change of dates request from us - eternally grateful!) to Jules in the bar, to Chris and Carter on bus and fire duties, and Mica and Fabrizio in the restaurant - you all are just incredible and truly hospitable, and your willingness to interact with our children and the joy they got from your presence is what I am most thankful for. We will definitely return, and share our perfect experience...
Read more20+ yrs of ski rider staying has come to an end. After an exciting return in 2022 after our covid break, we were disappointed with the ski rider changes however offered the COVID benefit of the doubt and re-booked for 2023. A $4000 price increase for the same dates and amount of people this year as we stayed last year all for some stale eggs and rubber snags for breakfast and packet veggies and plain meat selection in the grill for dinner. Let's not start on the below standard dinner in the buffet. Whilst there was a school group present, doesn't mean the rest of us need to eat camp food. We definitely missed the meal variety we have experienced in the past. Drinks that break the hip pocket with more ice than Antarctica and desert straight from the Sarah Lee factory rounds out the dining experience. The room heating systems also seemed to lacking. In previous years we have joked about cooking ourselves through the night and being able to dry our clothes however a couple of rainy days and early returns to our beloved ski rider to icy cold rooms and heaters not working definitely left us damp and miserable. We did notice the upgrade in mattresses on the double beds from foam to real mattresses 🙌 great for the adults, not great for the adults sleeping in the bunk beds. Five nights and not a single room service. No rubbish bins being emptied and no fresh towels for the whole stay. We can see where our money paid went with the new paint job and new tables and chairs however would like our old ski rider experience to be returned as I'm sure others would agree. The Ski Rider hotel era has well and truly come to an end for this loyal group of customers. We rate this ski rider experience a...
