This lookout is located about five minutes south of Normanville on the road to Cape Jarvis. HMAS Hobart was one of Australia's greatest naval destroyers - being the first Royal Australian Navy combat ship deployed to fight in the Vietnam War and being part of the disaster relief effort following Cyclone Tracy in Darwin in 1974 before being decommissioned in 2000. Scuttled in November 2002 at Yankalilla Bay, the ship is now a premier eco-tourism dive site and a declared marine reserve about 4 km from the coastline. The anchor from the ship points in the direction of where she lies.

I gave this lookout 3 stars as part of it is situated above a dwelling where a very unfriendly man lives. I cut my visit to this site short as he was shouting abuse at me, and I felt unsafe 😞. PS: The scenic photo was taken a little further down the road...

A stunning view along the Gulf St Vincent coast. This area is directly off Main South Rd. It offers excellent views of the coast along with information of the HMAS Hobart which lays on the ocean floor nearby. A great location to pull over, stretch the legs and take in the beautiful coastline. *Note, be careful exiting this location back onto the main road. Although the road has good vision, the traffic goes by fast and will come up faster than you may expect. Oh and stick to the left side of the road! This has been a significant issue...

This is a decent lookout that you can pull over into easily. Seating is available close to the water’s edge and a picnic table is available a bit further away. My partner and I did a short hike down to the water. We met a park ranger who said he saw some baby brown snakes, so be careful if you go for the short hike down...

Nice lookout. Hard to get pics on the day we were there as someone was taking up the good spots posing for photo after photo. Her outfit of fishnets, knee high boots and short skirt seemed appropriate for a day of sightseeing our beautiful coast. Her sunnies were pretty cool though lol
