Jaw dropping. I read the pamphlet at the info center and when I read "Australias largest private collection of shells, corals crustaceans" I expected it to be smaller in scale than the public museum displays I'm used too, I was so wrong. Theres more shells than I've seen in my entire life, there were so many and so beautiful. Theres neat displays of rows and rows of gorgeous little round shells, and displays of huge spikey shells, giant crabs, fish and all kinds of stuff. If you've ever found something cool at the beach and marvelled at natures designs then this is like everthing beautiful anyones every found at the beach all presented together in a jaw dropping display. Read moreKids were very excited! Travelling past and had planned to stop in. Unfortunately we got as far as the doorway because the eftpos machine wasn’t working and they would not let us transfer money into their bank account.
We are a large family of 6 including a 2 month old baby - a sign out the front saying NO EFTPOS would have been helpful so we didn’t have to get the kids out of the car and then back in again only to be disappointed. No one carries cash anymore.
Collection looked amazing from the front door though! We will come back again next time....

Is a bit pricy to get the whole family into see the collection (especially when compared to my kids' attention span, but we spent 45 minutes and could have spent longer and we have no regrets. Very friendly owners who were happy and eager to answer all of our questions. They've spent over 70 years collecting and it is great that they've opened their collection to the public.
