Wongabel State Forest — Attraction in Wongabel

A beautiful walk in Mabi forest just off the main road. It's a very easy 2.5 walk on a well defined track which rises and falls gently. Lots of bird song but hard to see them as the trees are very tall with lots of places to hide. Do look out for fungi on the rotting wood and tree trunks. We saw dead man's fingers for the first time here. There's also a shorter loop...

It's a nice area to be able to take dogs on a walk that is in the shade and a bit of a different area. When we went, the path a bit rough and they have pretty big pebbles making up the base which did make pushing the pram hard going at times. Definitely worth going although it can get very humid ... but it is basically...

Pet friendly Chance of spotting tree kangaroo! Take the longer walk and wear sturdy foot wear as ground is a bit un even.
