We went to Raymond Creek Falls, we were originally sent along basin road from Buchan but this ends at a private gate and you can't get through. We found the falls from Orbost. Beware it is thirty odd klms of unsealed road, we were in a small sedan but it would have been a better trip in a four wheel drive. The walk to the falls takes you to the top of the falls but the best is seen from the bottom of the falls. The track to the bottom of the falls has about three sets of stairs but easily walked on but remember you need to walk back up. There is an amazing pool of water at the bottom of the falls and they are quite good.

Best camping spots. Toilets and fire pits. Ideal for families. Road wouldn’t be suitable for most caravans etc but for campers and tents etc would be easy. No phone reception here but is such a peaceful place with plenty to see and do for longer stays. Clean sites with plenty of wood available. No dogs allowed in this park.

Fantastic scenery the drive across the mountains is beautiful following the river and then climbing back out on the Victorian side . If it looks like rain I’d give it a miss unless you’re in a 4x4

The iconic Snowy River is an amazing way to spend 3 or 4 days white water rafting. We usually start at Mccillop's bridge and get out at Buchan. Though last time we entered at Willis (near the NSW border). This added an extra day to the trip and despite not having many rapids worth talking about we did see a heap more wildlife than we usually see. On the last trip we saw emus, Brumbies, wild goats, to name but a few.

We have done this trip in early January and also in the Term 3/4 break. The water is so lovely and warm in Jan (even on dreary overcast days) though the rapids are not very exciting. There is also a lot of paddling, especially at the end of the trip. Doing it during the Term 3/4 break meant that we were cold pretty much the whole time, but the rapids were intense! You hardly even needed to...
