I recently had the opportunity to visit Danjera Dam in Yalwal, located in the beautiful Shoalhaven region. Let me start by saying that this place is truly a hidden gem, but be prepared for an adventure to get there. It's highly recommended to have a 4WD vehicle, as some parts of the journey involve steep inclines and declines, with one part having an 8-degree gradient. The majority of the road leading to the dam is unsealed, so having a capable vehicle is essential.

Once you arrive, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. The dam itself is a sight to behold, surrounded by lush greenery and nestled in a picturesque setting. It's a great spot for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

One thing that impressed me was the presence of not one but two toilet facilities nearby. One mich better maintained then the other. This is a welcome convenience, especially when you're out in nature. It's great to see that the authorities have taken this into consideration for visitors.

A new bridge has recently been completed, making it a little easier for those with 2WD vehicles to access the area. This is a fantastic improvement and opens up the opportunity for more people to enjoy the beauty of Danjera Dam.

Overall, despite the challenging road conditions, Danjera Dam is definitely worth a visit. The stunning scenery, peaceful ambiance, and the addition of toilet facilities make it a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Just remember to come prepared with a reliable vehicle and a sense...

There are two ways to get to the dam, one way is through Braidwood rd and the other is from Albatross Rd in Nowra, we took the Nowra way because it seemed better for a two wheel drive vehicle. It was mostly sealed which was good. The final kilometre down is very windy and narrow so be careful, before the descent there is a great lookout so be sure to stop for some photos. It would be good if they labeled the track better with the distance remaining. When you get down to the bottom is there a few places to picnic and a great view the dam. It's a great place to come and relax or meditate or for a swim if...

Great place to kayak/canoe. Beautiful location. Road from Braidwood Rd is recently graded, but there are sandy patches. Easily navigated with a 2WD car.

The descent down is mostly a single lane road so take care of others coming the other way.

Looks like they are re-doing the camping area. Two lots of toilets, no bins, so take out...
