Whether you're visiting the York for the first time, or if you've lived down here all your life, then you've got to come here at least once. Even if you have no interest or fascination, it's still a great attraction. As someone who has visited the war museums in France, Scotland, and England, I can say that this place can be counted among them. Have I praised it enough yet? Ok, let's talk about "ze experience". If you come here, best not to bring your dog. They have their own dog on the property and dislike other dogs being there. It's also very hot if there's a bit of sunshine (even in winter). So, no dogs. The place has an assortment of military cars and trucks, deactivated guns, civilian items, and more. See pictures for an idea of what you can expect to see. Also, because I didn't see this mentioned anywhere, it's $10 per person to enter.

Shown through the collection by the owner Chris Soar. There wasn’t a n item that was on display that Chris didn’t have a storey about. I was especially impressed that my dear aunty Yvonne Aldenhoven had put together a picture presentation of Edmund and Martha Aldenhoven’s nine out of their ten boys had served in the military during WW2. The tenth boy was too young to join.

Such an amazing collection of military memorabilia and ephemora, there are no words to describe the experience. Chris' dedication to his fellow Vets is nothing short of remarkable. Thankyou Chris for preserving this history which is sadly being forgotten.

We initially stalled at paying $15pp, BUT we were personally escorted and heard SO many stories and real accounts. It was impossible to take it all in. It certainly increased my respect and gratitude for members of our armed forces. Sincere thanks to Chris for his generosity of time and for having the passion to initiate and develop...
