A small ZOO located in a very beautiful landscape, rather more for people who like to walk and don't care that the place is in the hills. Perfect for relaxing, observing, stroking animals or just enjoying being outside in fresh air. We bought there this year the whole year tickets because of our son. You can buy at the entrance a paper bag with enough food for the animals. You can't feed all of them, but which ones is always displayed. At the entrance you can also buy some souvenirs. Inside is a very big playground for children with some coin operated machines, over summer opened buffet and if you're really hungry or thirsty, there are automatic machines with some drinks and food the whole year. There are two places with a ball lane. You can buy a wooden ball in also coin operated machine. So I recommend to take with you enough cash, mainly coins (1 Euros and 2 Euros) in case of need, there is an exchange machine for banknotes up to 20 Euros. In some written times you can use a ZOO train between entrance and playground (beginning from the area with water birds) if you're tired and you don't want to walk back to the entrance or if your children like to go by this train. This ZOO is not overcrowded, I always feel relaxed there, views to the landscape are fantastic and animals have enough space with hideouts. Next to the entrance there is a good restaurant. And if someone has written in previous review that there is nothing to see or nothing happens, it's not true, but if you're searching something like commercial sensation like big or exotic animals and big feeding shows, you have to go somewhere else. I think that the animals in the ZOOs are not any more to entertain us like...
Read moreWe visited the Tierpark on a Saturday morning, coming from Czechia. The cashier spoke perfect English, which made things easy, although we had an issue paying with a Visa card -Mastercard worked without any problems, so keep that in mind or bring some Euros just in case.
We bought animal food at the entrance, which was a great way to engage with the animals throughout the park. The main path was paved and stroller-friendly, which made it easy to navigate with our one-year-old.
There were plenty of goats and donkeys to feed, which was a highlight! Some of the more exotic animals weren’t as interactive, but you still get a great look at them. The zebras were especially cool and surprisingly friendly.
The playgrounds were a real surprise, absolutely huge and really well designed for kids of all ages. Our little one is still too small to enjoy most of it, but we’re already looking forward to our next visit when he’s old enough to explore it all. Definitely a major bonus for families!
The park has lots of seating and spots to rest. We brought our own snacks, so I can’t comment on the food options, but the staff were friendly, the animals looked well cared for, and the entire park had a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. We stayed for about three hours, and the time flew by.
We didn’t get to see the cheetah or wolves, but we saw almost everything else: The polar foxes were adorable (and surprisingly feisty!). This place is a must-see if you’re anywhere nearby. We’ll...
