Auszeit Salzkammergut Appartments — Attraction in Bad Ischl

Gist: a nice place to stay if you can deal with a potentially very hot apartment in the summer and quite unprecedented arrogance and aggression from the landlord — BTW, the chairman of the Private Landlords' Association in Upper Austria.

Background: Since it wasn't possible to book the accommodation with (small) children on booking.com, we booked directly with the landlord and even received a discounted flat rate compared to the price on booking.com. However, he never sent the promised written confirmation, and when we followed up, he only sent a sweet-talk-SMS (BTW, he is very good at sweet-talking). Upon arrival, the "Deluxe" attic apartment—otherwise very well-equipped—turned out to be unbearably hot (over 30 degrees Celsius) on what were normal summer days, making it impossible to sleep or cool down, even at night. The landlord's reaction was quite offensive and absurd. At the end of the stay, the final bill presented was suddenly significantly higher than the previously agreed discounted price and even higher than what it would have been on booking.com. When politely questioned about this, the landlord immediately became very aggressive and arrogant, threatening to call the police and file complaints—in front of the children. Naturally, he also didn't recall the previously agreed late check-out...

I had a wonderful 3-day stay at this apartment in Austria! The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. What truly made the experience exceptional was the host's kindness and generosity. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay, offering helpful tips about the area, giving us a free ride when we were stuck in rain, and always being available to answer any questions. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay in Bad Ischl. Leider waren wir mit der Unterkunft und dem Gastgeber nicht zufrieden. Wir konnten bei der Buchung genau wählen welches Apartment wir möchten.

Da wir als Gruppe gereist sind und mehr Wert auf Privatsphäre legen, wollten wir gezielt eine Unterkunft mit 2 Schlafzimmern, nicht mit einem Schlaf-Wohnzimmer. Unser Apartment war genau jenes, welches mit 2 Schlafzimmern beworben wird ("Apartment mit 2 Schlafzimmern", "This apartment features a kitchen, a seating area, 2 separate bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer."). Bei der Ankunft waren wir dann sehr enttäuscht, dass es sich doch nur um EIN seperates Schlafzimmer handelt und um ein offenes Wohnzimmer OHNE Tür in welchem 2 Betten stehen. Dazu kommt noch, dass das seperate Schlafzimmer eine kleine Besenkammer ist, die maximale Raumhöhe etwa 1,6 Meter, mit Dachschräge nach unten. Man kann also an keinem Punkt im Zimmer aufrecht stehen, im Bett hat man die Decke 20 Zentimeter über seinem Gesicht. Es ist extrem heiß und stickig da nur ein ca. 30x30 cm Fenster vorhanden ist.

Bei Rücksprache mit dem Gastgeber war dieser extrem uneinsichtig bezüglich der widersprüchlichen Beschreibung und meinte nur, das sei hier kein 5 Sterne Hotel usw. was absolut nichts mit unserer Kritik zu tun hat.

Dazu kommt noch, dass der Gastgeber wohl gerne seine eigene Arbeit für die Gästeregistrierung mit der Gemeinde auf die Gäste abwälzt. Uns wurde zwei Mal gesagt, dass wir das Gästeblatt mit unseren Daten beim Tourismusverband im Zentrum Bad Ischl abgeben müssen (knapp 10 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt). Am nächsten Tag haben wir das Gästeblatt dann zum Tourismusverband gebracht und dort gefragt, ob das wirklich die Gäste machen müssen, und siehe da - Nein, natürlich ist das die Aufgabe das Gastgebers! Vermutlich wurde unsere Beschwerde dann weitergeleitet, da wir 30 Minuten später eine SMS vom Gastgeber bekommen haben, mit der Bitte, das Gästeblatt bei ihm abzugeben... Sehr...
