Nostalgic, charming, and surprisingly fun – despite the quirks

We’ve been to this animal park a few times now, and every time it brings out our inner child. Yes, it’s true what some reviews mention – the park shows its age, and a few parts feel a bit outdated. But it’s 30 years old! That kind of charm can’t be faked.

Some enclosures could definitely be bigger or more modern, especially for a few of the larger animals. Still, most of them look healthy and genuinely relaxed – it feels like they’re living a good life.

As students, we paid just 2x€8 thanks to a small discount – totally worth it. You can also grab a feeder basket filled with grains for €1 (cash only for it all!!) which the goats and other animals absolutely love. One goat was a little too excited and left muddy hoofprints on light pants – fashion warning: dress wisely based on the weather.

The playground has its worn spots, but there are newer sections too, and the toilets were impressively clean – complete with wet wipes for easy hand-cleaning after all the animal fun.

It’s not a luxury zoo, but it doesn’t try to be. For the price, it’s more than fair. There are picnic benches to chill and a coffee machine for a warm drink. Even in the rain, we had a blast. Seeing the animals – and especially the baby animals (baby raccoons, goats, chickens, ducks, bunnies) – made it all worth it.

Flawed? Yes. But still...

This place is awful! It consists of run down, shabby, broken equipment with dangerous and unsafe toys with some animals in cages that desperately need cleaning. It's like some weird roadside attraction with old, rusty, broken down, and falling apart displays and the largest, eye-catching slide seen from the highway is completely inaccessible. And they have the audacity to charge 30 euros to enter, which in itself is completely insane, but even at an hour before closing. The whole place is awful and I truly feel bad for the animals there. Obviously no money is going into the maintenance and care of this facility. I can't believe they are still open, indeed, are allowed to be open. Der richtige Eingang war anfangs nicht direkt eindeutig zu finden; fast wären wir wieder gefahren. Aber dann sind wir doch einfach drauf los unter der Bahn Strecke her und haben den Eingang gefunden. Der Park wird privat geführt. Daher kann man hier die Gästekarte nicht nutzen. Eintritt 8 Euro ist OK für Erwachsene. Kinder unter drei frei. Ziegen teilweise streichelbar aber eher vom Zaun aus sowie viele andere Gehege wie Ponys und Esel. Wo man doch mal gern rein gegangen wäre. Das Hasen Gehege ist zugänglich. Dort waren die großen Hasen sehr lieb. Tieren fehlt es so an nichts; Ponys die mal nicht zu fett gefüttert sind wie oft in anderen Parks. Es wirkt von den Gehegen her etwas zusammen gewürfelt. Alt und neu mischt sich. Schade ist das die schönen Spielbereiche etwas veraltet und verlassen wirken. Die Sitz Bereiche sind schön... In jeder Ecke lädt es zum verweilen ein. Es gibt Toiletten aber nur das nötigste. Wie Container Baute; also etwas mehr Luxus wie ein Dixie Klo. Mit Essen und trinken konnte man hier nicht punkten. Es gab zwar Bänke und einen Getränke Automat aber sonst konnten wir nichts dergleichen entdecken. Ein kleiner Imbiss wird in der Regel aber doch oft noch gern in Anspruch genommen. Die Bewertung fällt schwer. Für manches hätten sie fünf Sterne verdient für manches nur zwei. Haben uns für drei entschieden. Die Dame am Eingang sehr hilfsbereit. Und nett. Die Lage des Parks etwas schade weil man immer Straßen und Bahnverkehr hört. Große Stromleitungen über den Park verlaufen. Das Panorama in der Ferne ist toll. Wir wünschen dem Park das er sich noch um ein paar Dinge verbessert. Und hoffen mit dieser Bewertung dazu beizutragen. Es wurde im Flyer so mit Eseln geworben... Und Eselmilch..so wie Produkten. Das einzige was zu finden war, waren zwei Esel die man aber nicht in ihrem Gehege besuchen durfte. Hmm. Etwas seltsam. Im Flyer unseres Hotels kam es anders rüber.
