Traunfall — Attraction in Desselbrunn

The Traunfall is a waterfall of the Traun in Upper Austria. It is located between the two towns of Steyrermühl and Roitham am Traunfall, on the municipal boundary between Desselbrunn and Roitham. The waterfall has a drop of around twelve meters and is several times the width of the river bed. The fall runs diagonally from the left bank of the river to the right over a river stretch of around 200 meters.

In the course of the construction of the "Traunfall" power plant around 1900, the "wild fall" was greatly changed by a weir system made of concrete and the fall channel for the raftsmen, also known as the "good fall", was eliminated.

Traunfall ride in 1926! So it goes from word to word and a large crowd of people flocks to the Gmunden town hall square, where the zille is already standing, which is supposed to carry an enterprising and nature-loving group of spa guests down through idyllic landscapes to one of the most beautiful excursion sites in Gmunden: the Traunfall.

Ein echtes Naturjuwel – die Traunfälle

Die Traunfälle haben mich wirklich beeindruckt. Schon beim Ankommen spürt man, dass dieser Ort etwas Besonderes ist – die Mischung aus der gewaltigen Strömung und dem klaren Wasser, das sich über die Felsen ergießt, ist einfach faszinierend. Besonders schön finde ich, dass man hier nicht nur aus der Ferne zuschauen kann, sondern es verschiedene Aussichtspunkte gibt, von denen man die Fälle aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven erleben kann.

Die Wege rund um die Wasserfälle sind gut ausgebaut und auch für einen gemütlichen Spaziergang bestens geeignet. Wer sich etwas mehr Zeit nimmt, findet entlang der Traun immer wieder ruhige Plätze, um einfach mal innezuhalten und die Natur wirken zu lassen. Im Sommer ist das Plätschern der Fälle und die kühle Luft in der Umgebung eine willkommene Erfrischung, und gerade an warmen Tagen wirkt der Ort fast wie ein kleiner Rückzugsort abseits des Trubels.

Was mir ebenfalls gut gefallen hat, ist die Kombination von Natur und Zugänglichkeit. Es gibt Parkmöglichkeiten in der Nähe, und trotzdem bleibt der Bereich rund um die Wasserfälle angenehm naturbelassen und nicht überlaufen. Ein kleiner Tipp: Am besten unter der Woche vorbeischauen, dann hat man den Ort oft fast für sich allein.

Insgesamt sind die Traunfälle für mich ein perfektes Ausflugsziel, egal ob man nur kurz vorbeischauen oder einen halben Tag in der Umgebung verbringen möchte. Die Natur ist beeindruckend, die Atmosphäre unglaublich entspannend – und ich werde ganz sicher...
