Schütz Art Museum — Attraction in Engelhartszell an der Donau

Cycling along the Danube we stopped here for lunch and were delighted with the cafe - Bettys Goulash soup and friendly service were the best ever!

Moved on to look around the gallery. All paintings very well lit and having so many from one artist really helped to showcase his work. Lucky to get into conversation with a guide who led us around the full gallery (to practice his already amazing English). This was a great privilege for us and especially to be introduced to the artist in residence and see the work in progress of another artist.

Absolutely great art museum! We wanted to see the latest exhibition on The Wiener Schule des Phantastischen Realismus (Sammlung Infeld) and are so glad we made it, because everything blew us away - the most awesome selection of artists and their great pieces of art (some you can even buy), the architecture of the museum itself that plays a lot on the view of the surrounding nature and landscape, the way information and artist are presented and the kind staff as well as the new artists in residence the museum supports. Die Sonne lockt mich im März hinaus, und damit wächst auch die Lust auf interessante Kunst in Engelhartszell, im dortigen Schütz Art Museum zu einer erfreulichen Begegnung mit dem phantastischen Realismus vorbei zu schauen . Eine sehr schöne, feine Ausstellung erwartet mich in den Räumen dieses sehr gut geführten privat Museums. Es macht viel Freude sich den Bildern hin zu geben und neues für sich zu entdecken. Mir ist es genau so ergangen. Sicherlich lockt Ernst Fuchs und andere Meister,die alle vertreten sind, aber ich habe neues entdeckt und es hat mir viel Freude bereitet. Auf 2 Etagen wird doch einiges geboten, im 2 Stockwerk sind dann die Skulpturen die auch sehenswert sind. Ich hoffe die Fotos Vermögen das ein wenig zu vermitteln. Die 10 Euro Eintritt sind ein fairer Preis für die vielen schönen Momente beim betrachten und genießen. Ich habe mich dann noch in das Museums Café eingeladen zu einem Kaffee und einer Mehlspeise, zuzüglich einem humorvollen Gespräch mit der netten Dame vom Service.
