I am absolutely disgusted with the service that we received this morning. We arrived at 6.30am in our van, only to be told we couldn't use the road as our vehicle is too big. The website stipulates that Motorhomes and Caravans/Trailers are forbidden but nowhere does it mention anything about a van or campervan. Our vehicle is actually no larger than a standard saloon and is well under the 3.6m height restriction. So it's clearly a discriminative action against people who intend to visit for the day in their van. To make matters worse, the lady who works at the booth was extremely rude and just told us to go away or park elsewhere and look for another alternative to get up to the reservoir. We drove almost 3 hours to visit here and we were really looking forward to visiting the area, so we drove about 20 metres to the nearest car park and planned to park there for the day and take the bus. But that isn't really feasible. For anyone interested in visiting in a van/campervan/motorhome. The parking is €15 for the day and the bus is €20 return PP. Making the price of a family of four €95 to go on a hike in nature. I am absolutely flabbergasted by these prices and I find it ridiculous that a bus is more expensive than the already overally expensive toll road (€14.50). In the end we decided to give it a miss and spend our money elsewhere but what a...
Read moreThe sign states NO motorhome or trailers. However the rude lady at the booth said we cannot enter as we are a van. She stated that all information is online. News alert online bans motorhomes and trailers only!!!! NO sign or info on the website anywhere says vans are not allowed. Absolutely ridiculous. If you are in a van you have to pay for parking before and then get a bus which costs 10 euro each way (8 plus 2 toll fee). So the trip that is 14.50 for a car turns to min. 45 - 60 euro if u are a van with 2 people, depending on which car park u choose. Money grabbing scheme Plus the earliest bus from train station is at 7.35 meaning u get there when it's absolutely hiving at 8.35 plus the hike. Joke of a place. The whole country hates vans and campers and I wish I...
Read moreRidiculous. We have checked our mini van’s requirements online, the measurements as well as weight of the car were fitting and appropriate according to the requirements, but we were not let through the toll booth to drive on the road, as we had a mattress at the back of our van, which they consider as a bed and therefore our car - a campervan. we were not planning to stay overnight, just a day’s trip to hike, hence we were there by 6 am sharp. The rude lady at the booth said we can take the bus at 8 am and pay for the parking + bus fees to go up the road. Money making...
