I had a fantastic weekend visit to Schlegeis Stausee. The artificial reservoir is stunning, especially on a sunny day. The area is well-maintained with clean facilities, including toilets, and offers a great viewing point. You can even walk across the dam, which is an awesome experience! For those planning to park, use P3 for the dam. If you’re planning to hike up to Olpererhütte, park in P2 as there’s a direct trail from there. At one side of the reservoir, there are adventurous activities like Flying Fox, rock climbing, and via ferrata with levels A, B, and C—perfect for thrill-seekers! If you want to beat the crowds, I recommend arriving early around 7 AM to avoid waiting at the entrance since it’s a one-way road. The toll road access costs 15 euros for a car for the day. Be sure to check their website by Verbund for any road closures, online toll tickets, and other updates. Overall, it’s a great day trip that I...

For extreme junkies! Recommend to visit! Flying Fox is just amazing with a great view on the lake. Bring your GoPro with you! Great climbing routes (from small for kids to longer and more difficult ones) right on the dam. Sailing station is also great - you jupm down from the middle of the dam, but go down with a slow speed. Owner of the place is def expert, so you are in safe hands. There is also a cute cafe to have a rest. You can rent equipment on the place as well. If you are around and you are not afraid of hight, then make sure to visit it! 12,50 euro - maut to get there, 2 euro you can get back in the cafe where they give the equipment for all the...

Went there on a cloudy/rainy day but still a sight to behold. Would recommend going here early and not close to closing time. Going up and down again takes some time (45 min to 1 hour from Mayrhofen) The route there is a long one with several waits (red lights with long countdown, ours was 19 minutes) but it is a very safe route. Only one short point where you had to look ahead for any oncoming traffic. Toll is paid at one of these long red lights and needs to be done in cash (14.5 euro). The toll is collected at the car and they seem to wait until the...
