Small resort with very limited options - old outdated train takes you to the proper ski lift( the only one in the whole resort), the train awaits until completely full only then leaves. In case of bad weather conditions most of the slopes and ski lifts are closed, but the resort operates on a full price, you can find a shelter in the only one Eisee restaurant( which has nice food options and crazily good hot chocolate). Basically all of the people in case of bad weather start using just one suitable slope no.9, so its overcrowded, in case everything else is closed. The signs of the slopes are not corresponding to reality- blue slope 5 in some of its parts is very steep in some of its parts pretty flat(for snowboarders its a hell). Slope no.1(red) directly from the top crazily steep way beyond red. Terrain at the top slope 3, unkept, lots of bumps, marked as blue but in some parts also very steep. Old outdated double ski lifts, one of them is closed. You have to be careful specially on 9 as its the only one mild long slope and there are many kids practicing on it, not to hit them, especially at the lover part of the slope just before the ski lift, where its not only steep but...
Read moreWell...mixed feelings. At the end we managed to have a great skiing in excellent weather but there are some buts...: it looks like they use the wind quite often as a good excuse to cut the electricity bill ( I try to believe it's not like this but one can get this feeling) the lifts and the whole infrastructure is stuck back in the 80s. The last investment in the modern technique was in 2001, the 6-chair with bubbles. The rest is older. Actually the snow groomers and snow guns are up to date. Most probably the depreciated infrastructure is the reason why the place is so oversensitive to the wind food is the same like in many Austrian skiing resorts - below average quality at above average pricing. But I have to give a credit to the resort for excellently prepared pistes which were in very good condition even in the late afternoon. And last but not least the sceneries are extraordinary... So be careful when you book your skipasses upfront. I recommend to book in last-minute after you make sure at least twice the wind is not going to blow...
Read moreGlacier experience that you will remember for long. You should check the weather for sure to have the best views, that are really worth it. Also check the wind, between 50-70 km/h it is tricky and over 70 with snow can be hardcore. There are lots of prepared tracks for all skiers, though to go from top to the bahn you have to go through narrow red slope which can be challenging for the beginners mainly after lunch. Anyway you can still take the cabine down. If you like off-pist skiing there are lots of the possibilities and simply amazing, you can go from top till bottom in powder (you have to be quick though as the day after snowing every off-pister goes as soon in morning as possible). Or you have to be accomodated in one of the three hotels up there. Prices are like in the mountains complete menu from 8-18eur, skipass with go-pass is...
