Galtür is rather excellent but not perfect. It is well groomed,ski resort wise, and offers a small but fun selection of runs. I myself am a very advanced snowboarder and foumd plenty to do whilst there. The ski area is also very good for beginners and the ski school is very good at incorporating all cultures. However, Galtür is a hotspot for German visitors and...well being English the German culture of not queuing, pushing and being rather rude is a little bit off putting; you should not let this affect your decision though.
The Village is beautiful and very nice to stay in. There are plenty of shops and rental for evwry need and of course Isgul is not far away. The bus service is every 5 mins from 5 am to 1pm and a bit random after that. For example I was doing late night off piest runs at 5pm and returned to the bus station at 6pm, I waited 30mins for a bus that day.
Galtur is split into 2 halfs each about 5 mins on the bus from each other.
