I absolutely recommend to visit this beautiful castle, and while you're at it, i really recommend also seeing the Niederweiden Castle. It's not far from Slovakia on feet, or if u wanna take a bike. Some might say that the ticket price is too high, but i think it's really worth it. The gardens are beautiful, you really can see the hard work of all of the staff while looking at the state of the lands and gardens, also there are many animals, that look well taken care of at the farmhouses belonging to the castle SchloßHof. The exhibitions of Sisi and her son were very informative and nicely done, i was really surprised to see that the staff included slovak translations to the main german descriptions and at the start of the exhibitions, you also could find english booklets with the same translations of the whole exhibitions. I would like to also thank all the staff that worked on 28. September, you really made my day even better than it was, from lady at the souvenir shop, the lady at the cash desk, to the lady and mr. Roman who kindly drove us to castle Niederweiden by bus even tho we missed the official time it was supposed to go and then were even willing to arrange a time that worked for us to take us back. Im really sorry I didn't catch all your names but you are the best. All in all, this was a great experience that was worth every last cent i paid for the ticket. Really recommend, you...
Read moreI apsolutely reccomend visit to the castle. It is really easy to walk to or bike to it from Slovakia. Everything was apsolutely perfect, there are big gardens with beautiful flowers and other plants. There are also many animals and the zoo covers great surface so just that is worthy of the ticket price. When it comes to the castle Schloss Hof and Niederweiden themselves, the whole experience is worthy every cent. The exhibitions of Sisi and her son were very informative, exhibits were explained in both Slovak and German and booklets with English explanations were on entrance of exhibitions. There are also an interactive parts of exhibition and trough whole castle ground so they are great for family with children. Personel was very kind, they tried answering to every question we had, they were smiling and looking very friendly, but I would especially like to praise the booking clerks who brought us by bus to castle Niederweiden and then back. I feel sorry I didn't catch names of our first driver and also the booking clerk but I would kindly thank them, and second driver Roman was very kind to drive us to the beggining of road to bridge. All in all, great experience, all my recommendations, you...
Read moreGreat place to bring kids. There are guided tours in the palace. The palace itself is quite big, the exhibition is entertaining and interesting, even without a guide. A baroque garden in the front of the palace is perfectly maintained and very beautiful. The view from the upper part of the garden is fantastic. Some parts of the garden are still under construction, but everything is looking very promising. There is a petting zoo near the palace, as well as an orangery, a restaurant and there are some farm animals kept in the outdoor enclosures, which are quite large and go far into fields. The petting zoo is the main attraction for children. Animals are tame. The restaurant offers good regional food, which originates from their own farm. The dishes are entitled in a strange way which refers to royals or royal history, but in fact they are mostly ordinary farmer's dishes. A vegetable garden and a flower garden are situated nearby. The territory (which is huge) has many smaller attractions to be seen (horse stables, cab house, etc). On holidays like Christmas or Easter, a seasonal market with all its delights is arranged. A car parking area is huge. Schlosshof is easily reached from Vienna by car...
