Today I enjoyed a wonderful 2 piano concert with Stephanie Timoschek and Christine David, two wonderful players. The Pleyel Beton room is around 100m2 so it always feels like being in a private concert, very close to the musicians. That is a real privilege to me. I highly recommend it.

Wczoraj mogliśmy doświadczyć tu brzmienia oryginalnego fortepianu Pleyela. Zabrzmiały utwory Pleyela i Chopina. Co ich łączy? Pewnie niejeden z nas pamięta wiersz Norwida "Fortepian Chopina", a już każdy kto trochę interesował się muzyką, słyszał z pewnością nazwisko Pleyel. Pleyel to znana w świecie firma z Francji budująca fortepiany, wymawiałam je wcześniej „plejeel". Tymczasem założyciel tej fabryki, Ignaz Joseph Pleyel, był Austriakiem, tak więc jego nazwisko wymawia się tutaj „plajel”, a nawet... „plajl”. Syn Ignaza, niezły pianista został także wydawcą nut i budowniczym fortepianów na których grał FRYDERYK CHOPIN. Oboje się przyjaźnili, a Chopin za udostępnianie znakomitych instrumentów dedykował Camille’owi cykl preludiów op. 28, skomponowanych oczywiście na pleyelowskim fortepianie.
