It is best to do the hike before sunset... the views are breathtaking (don't forget to bring a headlamp or some kind of light for the way back).
It is 1.4-1.7 km (for the average tourist 35 min up, 24 min down) from the car park under the hill, depending on which way you take. If you choose to hike along the Danube, you will have the opportunity to see many wonderful panoramic views. Sometimes there are even benches to sit on and enjoy. The walk is not difficult, about 35 elevation metres up and down. The forest is clean, the path is well marked.
In the middle of the walk you will see the ruin.
It is really the ruin, no conservation work. There are picnic areas at the top and bottom of the castle. And again fantastic views.
