Ruine Röthelstein — Attraction in Gemeinde Hainburg an der Donau

It is best to do the hike before sunset... the views are breathtaking (don't forget to bring a headlamp or some kind of light for the way back).

It is 1.4-1.7 km (for the average tourist 35 min up, 24 min down) from the car park under the hill, depending on which way you take. If you choose to hike along the Danube, you will have the opportunity to see many wonderful panoramic views. Sometimes there are even benches to sit on and enjoy. The walk is not difficult, about 35 elevation metres up and down. The forest is clean, the path is well marked.

In the middle of the walk you will see the ruin.

Is a lovely castle ruins easily accessible with a 20 minute easy walk from the Donau cafe parking spot in hainburg. A short walk up to the top will give you breathtaking views of the donau national park and local areas. If you're really lucky, you'll also see some snakes around this castle. If you go a little higher, you can continue a lovely walk along the cliffs back to hainburg, or continue down along the Danube through the national park, or exit the Perth into the nearby golf course for another...
