Visiting today this amazing looking castle, really beautiful from outside to inside. But staff, please make something on that! Not that I came there one hour before closing and the guy complained and let stress and arrogance on us out, I told him with respect we didn't know it is till 3pm open but we are still in time, and 3 others are with me, he just closed door behind me first then I wanna call others 3 from outside of the castle, they just make normal photo of course if you visit for first time, soon I step out he just closed the door behind me! That is very rude. Also he was later very annoyed that we finally came inside, he could kindly tell paying is only with cash wich we didn't know and then he was again annoyed of waiting for us to pay or kick us out. Also he cold normally say the group of other peoples are waiting for you not to push us with words like sheeps. The old worker guy didn't make good impression on first.
Then I notice it was mostly some not german people for me no problem I understand both. And the guy tour us I know he did his best, but to strict rules I get it no touching things, no photos inside of rooms only outside. But mostly he talk in german.
The rules are very strict no that no this if you brake rules you must leave. Ok understanding rules are rules, which is very hard for some people to understand. But for 15€ what is price and so little tour on such a big castle I really expected more and little fast tour not so slowly talking. Well that's my opinion but longer tour and less talk.
After tour I'm speechless how that system is functioning in that castle, no words. Just disappointed!
So first time and last time in that castle which is amazing, stuff sucks! Special that...
Read moreI have visited the palace twice and both times I had different experience. First time the guided tour was done really nicely and professionally. We had enough time to look around and to ask question in either German or English. Second time a month later I wanted to show the palace to a friend and the guide was nothing more to say but terrible. A very young girl, who was running around the palace and the stairs full of energy, not waiting for all the tourists to come together, starting the tour and explanations while elderly people and groups with small children were still fighting their way up the stairs or the distances. Speaking German in some local dialect and unfortunately she was super unfriendly. She made unpleasant comments to a group of tourists not speaking German to be quiet . The tour includes only 3 rooms to see. It is very short and can be disappointing for the price you get to pay and the short time allowed for the tour but when done nicely it is interesting. The first time with the professional guide it was lovely. The second time I felt sorry for the lost time and money. Tours are in German only. For English -you are given a dirty A4 page with scarce information on it. So prepare in advance if you find any information online. The castle is beautiful though. The restaurant next to it is a must to visit. Phenomenal Austrian cuisine with authentic friendly service and great views! And what was most amazing was the Bird show performed twice a day! Oh, that was unforgettable! Because of the beauty of the castle , the great restaurant and the Bird show we had a great family time , but if someone from the office of the castle will read that , please be aware of your staff and do some...
Read moreATTENTION ALL ENGLISH SPEAKERS (🇺🇸🇬🇧) I am pretty sure that if I had been storming this castle in the 1700s they would have been more friendly than the tour guide was to us yesterday. To start the castle is amazing is definitely worth seeing. However when the tour started we asked the lady if there was English. She then became annoyed by this and obviously disliked that we PAID for the tour which we had waited an hour for. We were given sheets with a supposed English translation but they contained far less info the the lady gave. She made no attempt to welcome us, paying customers, despite catering to the Hungarian speakers on the tour in a very friendly way. In fact, the only time the old lady was speaking English was when she told us she couldn't speak English, which I am pretty sure she could, and when she was yelling at my son for "touching" an axe when he pointed at it. She then proceeded to tell a joke about him in German and the whole group laughed at him which was very demoralizing. If you are looking for a cool castle I much preferred Aggstein Castle, the self guided tour was in English as well as fantastic, had much better views of the Danube, and is 900 years old. If you speak English, go...
