Salzachklamm — Attraction in Golling an der Salzach

Generall its for german audiences, the guide vas very entertaining a, involving and professionall, but just to a point, for english speaking audiences they printed out the manuscript. We had a fun history lession about earth, limestone rivers, ice glaciers, pyrite,mountains forming by tectonic plates shifting, neanderthals, the church, the celts, the austrian army battle with Napoleon(sparta style). And then the zip line, which is the expirience for itself. After the tour we headed back up and had a small chat with the guide, he asked us where we're from and we said Serbia, he just instantly lost the smile lowered his head and in the middle of the sentence started walking faster to the front of the group from us. And at the end a thorough check of or advance payments and the rest of the bill, totaly oposite of laid back athmosphere at the start. It was very poor behaviour. Thats why its 1 start in...

Eine Klamm der Salzach. Gesehen habe ich den unteren Teil vom Hotel Pass Lueg aus flussabwärts. Hier bildet die Salzach eine teils enge tiefe Schlucht, die sie seit der letzten Kaltzeit ins Gestein gefräst hat. Der Weg ist dagegen (im Sommer) ziemlich einfach (Treppen). Ein Abstecher zum Dom (gut ausgeschildert) ist sehr empfehlenswert. An vielen Stellen sieht man die glattgeschliffenen Felswände und Kolke. Der Weg vom Hotel aus ist etwa 500m lang, bis es nicht mehr weitergeht (eine Art Seilbahn, die aber nicht in Betrieb war). Dabei sind es 65 Höhenmeter (20 Höhenmeter an der Salzach entlang). Nach 40 Minuten ist man wohl wieder draußen. Für Kanufahrer ist die Salzachklam offenbar sehr schwierig und spektakulär (es gibt eine Gedenktafel für die erste Durchfahrt 1931). Wie die guten Infotafeln verraten, war Pass Lueg und die Salzachklamm auch politisch-militärisch wichtig, selbst bis in den Kalten Krieg hinein. Seltsam war, dass der Weg Eintritt kostet (5€; mit Strafandrohung, falls man nicht zahlt), die Kasse vor Ort und im Hotel aber nicht besetzt war (und Öffnungszeiten nicht angegeben waren), aber sogar Snacks offen bereitstanden. It's a beautiful gorge with interesting history

The trail is well maintained, the admission price is what it should be (5 euros or 4 euros with regional tourist card - TennengauPLUS Card), and there are informational elements sprinkled around the trail detailing the formation and human history in the region.

It's a steep trail and it requires more effort than the other tourist gorges, so come prepare...
