We wanted to visit Untersberg during the winter (December) to see the mountain views and the snow. We don't live in an area that ever sees snow and wanted the kids to see snow without taking a holiday to a specific snow destination. This definitely delivered!

There was plenty of walking track to follow with the snow conveniently packed down by other tourists. Just off the trail the snow was knee or thigh deep at least (I wasn't brave enough to venture farther).

Great pictures and scenery. Apparently also possible to have a hot drink but we didn't try that.

We used our Salzburg card. Technically we skipped the line to the cable car but there was no line to skip (Saturday,...

"Unforgettable Experience at Untersbergbahn! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

Untersbergbahn is a must-visit once in a lifetime! The cable car ride itself was thrilling, and when we reached the top, it was a winter wonderland with fresh snowfall—absolutely breathtaking! ❄️🏔️

The views from the summit were just spectacular, making it totally worth the trip. There's also a cozy café at the top, perfect for a short 10-15 minute break. However, if you have a fear of heights, be prepared—it can be a bit nerve-wracking!

Overall, an amazing experience, highly recommended for nature lovers and adventure...

Oh my days, one of the best views from where you get off the cable car at the top, ride up is not for the faint hearted, if you're scared of heights then this is NOT FOR YOU !, but once up the views from the terraces are out of this world, then stop for a beer and some lunch in the lovely little cafe near the entrance to go back down. No hand rails on the mountain so be careful in the snow but what a beautiful afternoon we had up there, it is a MUST SEE when in Salzburg, get the number 5 or 25 bus and just stay on it til it terminates and then you're there,...

Starting with the cable car, what an amazing experience ❤️🚠 Terrified and mesmerized at the same time 🤩 Visited on April 30, 2023 and it was fully covered with snow ❄️🏔️ Highly recommended but don't go without proper shoes and gears if you plan to visit the higher mountain peaks there. We wanted to climb to the highest peak but all of a sudden it became so foggy (around 1:30pm) and the visibility was very low but it was worth every second.

Free with the Salzburg card to take the 8.5 minute cable car to the top of Untersberg. There’s a cable car every 30 minutes and free WiFi. Breath taking views of the alps. It was cold and with fresh powdery snow. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes with tracking if you plan to go further out in the snow. Takes another 30 minutes to hike to the peak which is the highest peak in Austria. Going down was more dangerous than going up.
