Pilgrimage church of Maria of Strassengel — Attraction in Gratwein-Straßengel

Was so pleasantly surprised by this beautiful church with its 48m high Gothic tower and its fantastic vaulted ceiling and white marble high altar. Not to speak about the breathtaking 14 and 15th century stained glass windows. Also located in this church are the relics of the martyred St. Boniface brought from the catacombs of Rome. Peaceful place with a lovely energy. Fabulous views of the town below...

Zu dieser Kirche haben schon Berufenere geschrieben. Was jedem Reisenden auffällt, ist der gotische Turm, dem Stephansturm nachempfunden, denn man sieht die Kirche schon von weitem, weil sie auf einem Berg liegt und weit ins Land schaut. Wir kennen sie von Konzerten des Steirischen Kammermusikfestivals und schätzen nicht nur den schönen Bau und Innenraum, sondern auch die fabelhafte Akustik.
