The worst service I have experienced in a while. This shouldn’t be an Alpenverein Hut after all. I get that this place is very touristy, but the personell especially the chief of the hut made you feel like you were just a number. Very unfriendly and not helpful at all and always watching over you. The prices are crazy for a Alpenvereins Hut or maybe they charged us more as usual I don’t know. He also didn’t give me back the full change when paying, which I noticed just later. A day later we payed a third of the price at a nearby high alpine hut with better homemade food and really kind service. The rooms were cold, with no functioning heating and basic blankets like on an alpine hut above 3000m. The bathroom was moldy and very basic as well. This hut is located right next to a main road and charges prices more expensive than a lot of other high alpine huts. Would avoid this one and choose another alternative...

Great place to drive to and start a hike or ascent to the summit of the highest mountain in Austria (Großglockner). The people in the Glocknerhaus were Medium friendly. Therefore only 4 stars rating. The region itself is beautiful!

In the summer, about the first half of the ascent towards the summit is easy and the second half contains an alpine part (requires at least crampons) and some Rock climbing (maybe not easy for beginners). If you have little experience with either alpine ascents or rock climbing, you definitely should to book a guide (groups up to 3 people per guide). Most people who think they are experienced enough still get themselves into life-threatening situations here quickly, even when the weather is good; but BEWARE the weather can be very unpredictable the closer you get...

Our group stayed there for a night between days of hiking. We took night stay and half-board and it was super expensive for what we got. Only one dish on the menu for dinner (no option for vegetarian!), no hand soap in rooms (Covid pandemia is still active!), only one blanket per person and the sheats weren't in the price. We arrived at breakfast at 7:05 and the serving table was already half empty, we didn't have enough coffee for all of us, also there wasn't enough juice for all of the guests. The staff was helpful but service was very slow. We are definitely not coming back. It wasn't terrible but definitely not good...

Extremely rude waitstaff. Never seen such rude people in mountains. They force you to wear a badge like school children and shout at you if you don’t wear it!! There is a tall Turkish looking guy who shouts at people while taking orders for drinks and food saying “wait for your turn to order food, my system doesn’t allow me to enter orders for you”. I don’t care what your system does, you are here to serve, so DO YOUR JOB! Also they give expired products in breakfast- see picture and the date of posting this review is 21st August , and my friend had hair in his salad!

Awesome Views! There a Sound Trip down to the Glacier and to the Glacier Lake! Stunning Panorama with a teaching Path about the Glacier and the surrounding Mountains. The Food Up top ist also really nice, plenty and tasty! Also really nice View from the Restaurant. There is also a big parkinghouse up top for Bikes, cars and caravans.
