Franz-Josefs-Warte — Attraction in Linz

OK for a building 130+ years old this tower remains solid and sturdy so only a fear of heights will keep you away from the top platform from which you will enjoy an unsurpassed, sweeping view if the city, the river and hilly lands all around. I counted 126 steps. As a bonus, the large park grounds feature huge trees(labeled!) and an effort by the city to encourage the return of native plant life. In early stage now, the flourishing of so many different, and lovely, plants is heart warming. Walk to the tower from the main town square, yes it's uphill but for old knees, walking downhill hurts more, so catch the bus for the return ride to Taubenmk stop. I suppose you could take the...
