If you love the mountains this is for you. From the drive up along the creek rushing through the trees sparkling in the Sun to the view from the lifts to the views from the top, it's all spectacular. Sure, good weather is much better as this is high alpine. The two gondolas take you to ~2700 meters where you can finish or better yet walk up a pathway to a small stone building honoring a mountain pioneer. The mid-station also allows you to get off and walk around but in the summer there's no facilities open. The restaurant at the top was also closed, but a hut just below was open serving basic meals and refreshments. The summer Kaernten Card gets you up the...

This rating is only for the base station and lift during the summer.

No surprises if you avoid peak summer times. A 2 minute walk from the parking area over a pretty creek. Service is friendly and speedy. Lineups ate never terrible but can be 5 minutes in the morning between 9 and 10am. If you have a Kaernten Card the ride is free. If not it'll run you about 20 some Euros up and down. The three (sometimes two) Gondolas hold about 20 people each. Wait times between departures from the valley, mid-station and top can be up...

This time of year the mountain tops were cover in snow which made them look beautiful. This also made a walk to the top pretty much impossible without proper boots and at least some climbing gear. Nevertheless with the sun out it was better outside the bergstation than inside.
