Tuesday 14th Aug. Not a nice experience! After a climb up to the Ahorn Spitze a nice welcome cool drink is all I wanted. After standing in a long line of people for ages the lady serving me could not find a bottle and I was served very 'dodgy' warm white wine from under the counter in a jug. The jug was full of sediment and when I complained I was told it was ok and they would not replace the wine. I didn't drink the wine and even the guy collecting the glasses didn't like the look of it. ||||It was very hot, very busy and none of the staff were helpful. I won't be stopping here again! Go back down to the Panorama restaurant at the top of the ahorn bahn... a wonderful experience ..and a nice clear glass of ice...

Bei der Anzahl der AV-Hütten trifft mann halt in unregelmäßigen Abständen immer wieder mal auf eine, die gar nicht zu empfehlen ist, weder zur Einkehr noch zur Übernachtung, die Edelhütte ist eine davon…leider, denn ich kenne Sie aus den 80ern auch noch anders, als der Hüttenwirt die Lebensmittel und Bierfässer mit Pferden von der Ahornbahn zur Hütte transportierte und man sich um Gäste noch bemühen musste.

Das Überleben der Hütte scheint inzwischen durch Bergbahnwanderer sämtlicher Nationen gesichert, da muss mann sich offensichtlich nicht weiter anstrengen.

Fazit: Freundlichkeit, Qualität sowie Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sind Fremdwörter.

Möchte jemand aufgrund einiger YouTube Videos den Aschaffenburger Höhenweg von der Edelhütte aus beginnen, kann ich Euch nur dazu ermutigen, die Tour ohne Berührung mit der Edelhütte durchzuziehen, es sind von der Ahorn-Bergstation lediglich 40 Minuten Fußweg. Von der Bergstation bis zur Kasseler Hütte benötigten wir knapp 7 1/2 Stunden (entspannt).

Und dann geht’s dahin, wo wirklich (meist) alles passt, Kasseler-, Greizer- (Best of) oder Olpererhütte, aber bitte nicht das Pfitscherjochhaus vergessen - beste Minestrone, Buchweizenkuchen und mehr.. Da macht man, bzw. wir, sehr, sehr gerne einen kleinen Umweg der...
