Mammut Cave — Attraction in Obertraun

It was a very great experience for us. The cave is naturally formed by water millions of years ago, so this is a natural phenomenon. Our tour guide was super nice, he told us very interesting facts alongside the tour. Be prepared for the stair climbing alongside the trip, but its really worth it. You can reach the entrance of the cave from the first stop of the cable car (marked with orange). You need to walk approx 15 mins up to the hill. This is a large tubular cave caused by the flow of an underground river. If you have the time/ like walking, it is great to walk to the nearby Buhlerbach Ursprung ( natural spring) once you are back at the cable car station. It's about 30 mins along the Koppelwinkel trail on a side track signposted. The cave is ok, i would say it's worth visiting the cave since it's well organized and it's one of the longhest cave in Austria. The English guided tour is not that well organized since the guide only stops to explain in German and then he starts walking while he explains very quite to the persons around him the history of the cave in English.
