Rauriser Hochalmbahnen — Attraction in Rauris

Rauris is an ideal ski resort for families & beginners and it’s also very cheap too.

The lift system is very good for a small skiing area and the pistes are maintained to a very high standard.

There’s also a small fun park ski area to keep the young ones entertained and there’s some of the nicest mountain restaurants with stunning views.

Telemark skiing is very popular in Rauris and in the past it has held championship races.

The main gondola station is at 947m and the highest lift station is at 2175m

It’s also possible to go tobogganing each day from the Kreuzboden chairlift and twice a week you can do this under floodlights.

The marked ski area is 32km long and it is ideal for beginners & intermediates.

There are some challenging reds and a black which will take you close to the main village, but I have known the black to be closed on some visits to Rauris.

Every time I’ve been skiing in Rauris the snow conditions have been good, which results in excellent skiing.

The ski lift operators and ticket office staff are very friendly and helpful, as are the ski school instructors from a couple of ski schools.

I’ve personally been skiing for over 25 years and Rauris is like my second home. Me & my family have been returning year after year and many of my friends love Rauris too.
