Brilliant day out ...Witch themed mountain We parked in the car park at the bottom, for free in summer, we went up with our lift passes in the cable car which is very new and very nice, each cart is decorated with a different Witch theme and some have broomsticks attached to the side which the kids loved. At the top of the hexenwasser cable you can take the hohe salve red cable car to the very top of the mountain, called Hohe Salve ... which has the most amazing views all around. There is a play park at the top and a restaurant and a church, and one of the handstamper things you can put on to show you have been to the top! Brilliant photo opportunities, a couple of platforms to stand on and the most fantastic views. We decided to walk back down to the middle station which took us just under 2 hours, we went on the path that says for experienced hikers only. I think that if you are reasonably agile this would be fine as our 6 year old managed it, When you get back down towards the cable car station there are lots of wooden houses with things for the kids inside in the theme of witches... some of the houses have activities in you can do for a couple of your euros making bread and making other things / crafts etc One of the houses has bees, and you can see them making nectar. Another has some farm animals, chickens , cows Etc. The middle station has an amazing play park with suppliers swings, stilts, a little slide that you roll down on a piece of wood and another couple of restaurants and a shop. As with everywhere in Austria that we have visited so far there is an absolute abundance of play stuff for the kids and they could literally spend all day there ( which we did in the end) Behind the Hexssonwasser cable car station there are six or seven small lakes and water play area which the kids can walk in splashing and playing and another of the Austrian style water runs where the kids can lift flaps etc to let water flow...

Hexenwasser is great and absolutely worthwhile to visit, esp. for families with children. The cable car to Hochsöll (1.150m) and Hohe Salve (1.829m) leaves from Söll. Entry to this theme park is included in the cable car fee. The central part of Hexenwasser Hochsöll is a water park consisting of ponds and rivulets where children can play a variety of water games. There is also a one mile barefoot path featuring opportunities for different kinds of sensory experience. The Park is complemented by various alpine restaurants, playgrounds and petting zoo. Hexenwasser Hohe Salve is located at the top of the mountain. Here you can find a panorama restaurant with great views to the Alps. For people who love to hike there are several themed trails...

Wonderful place for families with kids especially. There are many interesting water games, the place is huge. You can plan an entire day here without getting bored. There are more places to eat, you don't have to stop to the first one you find. The access in the park is free, you only pay the cable transport. We took a ticket for middle+upper station, up and down, for 108eur (3adults, 2kids 7/9yo). Near the restroom there is a deposit place, where you can leave your lugagge during the visit in the park. There are also at least 2 places with drinkable water where you can refill your bottle with fresh...
