In this house, Gustav Mahler composed several of the songs featured in the cycle "Des Knaben Wunderhorn", as well as the Andante and Scherzo of the Second Symphony, and the entirety of the Third Symphony, staying in Steinbach for 4 summers, living in the nearby Gasthaus zub Hollengebirge.
