Lake Ossiach — Attraction in Treffen am Ossiacher See

Nice, warm and clean lake with a pretty view. There are not many public lake entries. Thus, I’d recommend picking a hotel with a “private beach”. In the area of Alt-Ossiach it wasn’t possible to walk next to the lake as there are many private properties. Hotel and restaurants are rather expensive for what you get (mediocre quality). I’d suggest renting a boat for discovering the lake. There’s also a bike rental place called “bike point”. For hiking and an awesome view you should visit the Gerlitzen which is located next to the lake (10 min drive from Alt-Ossiach)....

Great place. New bathrooms and toilets very clean. The lake is breathtaking. The receptions ladies are exceptional.

Remarks from us: On the standard place, the electricity box was located so far from our place that our 25 meter cable was not long enough. Perfekte Radtour inklusive entspannter Panorama-Schifffahrt. Wir starteten unsere Radtour im nördlichen Villach und fuhren entlang des Seebach's (Radweg R2) Richtung Ossiacher See. Links und rechts des Weges gibt es immer wieder tolle Dinge zu entdecken. Entlang der Südseite des See's ging es weiter zum Stift Ossiach und von dort über das wirklich sehenswerte Naturschutz Gebiet dem Bleistätter Moor, nach Bodensdorf zur Schiffsanlegestelle. Unterwegs ließen wir uns einen Sprung ins kühle Nass natürlich auch nicht nehmen. Mit dem Schiff Ossiach ging es dann entspannt und begleitet von einem kühlen Bierchen retour in den Westen des See's (Haltestelle Landskron). Der kurze Rückweg nach Villach wird durch die vielen schattigen Passagen zum Katzensprung. Für uns eine empfehlenswerte, entspannte und abwechslungsreiche Variante...
