das Alois — Attraction in Tux

We are still thinking about our lovely week at das Alois and are hoping to make it back sooner than later. What a great hotel. It really radiates that family feel, everyone is trying their best to make you feel comfortable but without being overbearing. Small enough to feel familiar, big enough to give some privacy if you wish. The facilities are perfect, everything you need and more is there. Even yoga classes for the guests, although this may be the one thing we enjoyed less, it is more of a gymnastik class at a very slow pace in a rather cold room. But the fact that all these things are on offer is just so wonderful. The bootroom and skiroom are convenient after a day skiing, the wellness very good, we had massages which were great. The hotel was also spotless. If I had to find something to fault, and it is really almost impossible, it was that there was dust on the ledges above the bed but they are high and I am overly sensitive to dust. The bathroom is small but functional. We loved the vast amounts of storage, as we know skiing just comes with lots of stuff to hang up at the end of the day. I'm picky when it comes to ski hotels, but I struck gold here. Spacious rooms, excellent food, a cosy bar and superb spa combined to create a very relaxing stay. The staff are superb, and clearly the family owners are very hands on in maintaining the quality. The pools (because one pool is just not enough!) are big enough to actually get a decent swim in, and the outdoor one is every bit as magical as the photos suggest. My favourite element was the spa. Its the best I have come across, and I spent hours in there every day. It is very well thought out and spacious. My ski holiday turned into more of a spa trip with a bit of skiing attached.||The ski lift is a five minute walk away, and you can ski back to within about 100 metres of the hotel. The ski hire shop is just across the road. The village is small and quite pretty, and very quiet, which is fine by me. You know, you can have the best facilities, the best views, the best location, but all that doesn't matter if you haven't got great staff, and that's why we love coming back to this place, everything is amazing yes, great attention to detail etc...but the staff, they don't get enough of a mention, it is just so great to see the dedication from all staff members that all also ensure you have a fantastic stay and have a memorable trip It's 5 * to all the staff as well. Which makes me think, if the staff are all so amazing, that means the staff are treated well as well by their employer, so other businesses should take note, look after your staff and then they in turn will look after your customers I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel/resort, it is my 6th or 7th time here both in winter time and summer time, and am already looking forward to coming...
