Jubiläumswarte — Attraction in Vienna

English: The jubilee waiting room is located in Ottakring (16th district) and is a lookout point on the Gallitzinberg. Arriving on the viewing terrace (freely accessible in summer, but closed in the winter months) you can overlook the Wienerwald to the west and the Viennese city area to the east. On clear days, the view over the Vienna Basin, the Kalkapen and the White Carpathians is possible, you would have to climb the 37m high tower beforehand. Nature lovers come here at their expense. Forest museum for children and Obsavstorium are further highlights. I recommend at sunset or at night. Buses rarely consider hiking or cycling as a possibility.

Deutsch: Die Jubiläumswarte befindet sich in Ottakring (16.Bezirk) und ist eine Aussichtswarte auf dem Gallitzinberg. Auf der Aussichtsterasse angekommen (im Sommer frei zugänglich, in den Wintermonaten jedoch gesperrt) kann man nach Westen den Wienerwald und im Osten das Wiener Stadtgebiet überblicken. Bei klaren Tagen ist auch der Blick über das Wiener Becken, die Kalkapen und die Weißen Karpaten möglich dazu müsste man vorher den 37m hohen Turm erklimmen. Absolutely worth your effort, you'll be rewarded by the views!! Couple of things, it can get very windy up, even though you don't feel the winds on the ground. If it's raining or have just rained, surface and the steps maybe slippery. Watch out, step carefully. If the weather is nice and sunny, expect some crowds here. Absolutely gorgeous view of Vienna and the Wienerwald. Really cool tower, it's this big concrete post thing with stairs spiralling up to the top. There are landings quite often for those who want to pause to catch their breath or let others pass them, and I can't stress enough how good the view is.
