It's a quiet family-oriented ski slope. Don't expect to find any crazy apres-ski parties here. The prices are about the same as you'd find elsewhere in Austria, but there are very few crowds here. It was a melty day when we visited and there couldn't have been more than 100 people total on the slopes.
Both of their chairlifts are highspeed and you get plenty of options in runs when there's good snow. I found the t-bar lift to be quite fun. The on-mountain dining options are excellent, you pay more than usual but get excellent views in return. Beer is cheaper than water.
The runs are quite steep but have many areas to stop and rest. Navigation is easy; everything is visible from every point on the mountain. The rental services are great as well, run by a third party. I recommend reserving in advance, then you can simply pick up your gear and go.
Transport to and from the area is easy; the bus stops at the wooden shack in the parking lot. Easy to get to by car as well.
Payment by cash is ideal for foreign visitors, the credit card readers can be quite picky as is the case everywhere in rural Austria.
Overall, a nice quiet hill to get some great...
Read moreWe bought 2-hour tickets to ski from 14 till 16. We know the resort so we wanted to ski on slope no. 1. As the website said all lifts were open, I assumed also all related slopes were open. After I paid, I noticed slope 1 was closed as snow generators were running. Other slopes were already worn a lot, slope 5 at polster was a disaster. When I asked for a discount after we finished, I was informed there is no snow in the whole Austria etc. So dear Praebichl owner, if you decide to rip customers by charging full price for incomplete service (closed slope no. 1 is a big factor), you could perhaps consider transparent information sharing about slope status on your website, which is a common practice of polite...
Read moreI have never encountered such a poorly managed and poorly prepared ski resort. I understand that conditions depend on the weather, but considering a piste, the photos of which I have attached, as prepared and open is reprehensible. According to snow reports, there is at least 50 cm of snow cover. The photos show that this is not true. Additionally, this is one of the few ski resorts where you cannot return ski passes. And this information is not available at the ticket office, it is only displayed on the ski pass after you buy it. We feel misled by the information provided on the internet and also wronged by the anti-consumer policy. I advise you to avoid this place, for this money you can really...
