Tel Ayalon.. Hurvat aked.. Beautiful places

Tel Ayalon – A Historical Hill in the Heart of Israel

Tel Ayalon, located in the foothills of the Judean Mountains, is a significant archaeological site that offers a fascinating glimpse into Israel's ancient history. This prominent hill, overlooking the Ayalon Valley, is home to a variety of ancient ruins, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and those eager to explore Israel’s rich past.

The site is famous for its strategic location, which has been inhabited since the Canaanite period. Excavations at Tel Ayalon have revealed remnants of ancient fortifications, city walls, and structures dating back to various periods, including the Biblical and Roman eras. Visitors can wander through the remains of these ancient settlements and gain insight into the daily life and history of the people who once lived here.

Tel Ayalon also holds biblical significance, as it is mentioned in several ancient texts, including the Bible, in relation to events that took place in the region. The area offers stunning panoramic views of the Ayalon Valley, making it an excellent spot for a combination of history and natural beauty.

For those interested in both history and hiking, Tel Ayalon is a great destination, offering the chance to explore both the archaeological remains and the surrounding scenic landscapes. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a peaceful escape with historical intrigue, Tel Ayalon is a captivating spot in...

My happy place in the forest! I love the beach and I love the mountains but Canada Park really does it for me. We had a Braai, for the non South Africans you would call it a BBQ, Invited some friends and even managed to meet some awesome off road bikers! The Braai drinks and catching up with friends was absolutely awesome. The tables in our area were pretty clean, the park itself was very neat and as per my son, the toilets were super clean. When we were done we threw out our coals, poured our extra water and ice over them to make sure they were dead and left our area as clean as we found it. We will be back real soon for a bit of exploring as well next time. We would highly recommend this place if you love...

This park has lots of potential. It's huge, very green, and when you follow the paths away from the parking area it is very quiet. BUT - it is very, very dirty. Garbage is piling up everywhere, especially near signs that say to pick up your own rubbish as there is no garbage collection on the site. And it's everywhere. We came early and it was great; on the way back to the car the place was packed, and it is clear why it is dirty - the smell of BBQ was all around us. If you plan to visit, I suggest an early hike along the streams, even if they are dry, that's your best option. I probably won't go back...

I never heard about this park and I’m living in Tel Aviv quite a few years. It’s very convenient to go there from Tel Aviv, with the car it’s less than 30 min. In the park is a lot of parking space. The park itself is amazing, beautiful wild flowers, trees, hiking trails and a cave. I saw pictures of the water place before and couldn’t wait to find it - unfortunately it was full of people (I was there on Pessach), no chance to enter the water. The water was muddy, dirty and people left trash there. I recommend going there during the week and in the mornings. Besides that a very beautiful trip.

The park spreads on a large area with a lot of places for picnics and short distance walks. There is plenty of parking space and the park can host many visitors without feeling crowded. At the right season, the place as water from different streams that kids can play in safely. The main pools are not for swimming and might be dangerous for small kids, it is suggested to avoid picnicking next to them.

Just beautiful. Ancient ruins from the biblical period, including one of the possible sites of Emmaus. Even in peak times there is an abundance of parking and its all free! The one downside is the toilet facilities are very limited, with only two toilet blocks in the whole park. Nature at its best here - enjoy!

For a picnic or just jogging, this place has very good smell and beautifull scenarios. Free entrance. Some place are historical ones, since biblical times, and most recently the Independence War against Jordan. During winter or begging spring it's possible to see small water fall.

One huge park (note it spands the entirety of two sides of the road - and one side is larger and has more things to see). It's great for picnic, lighting a grill, exploring around with children and just driving around - good for even a small vehicle, not only 4x4 like it says.

We went to the park on Saturday and found an amazing place called "hamalabira". We wanted just to stop for a quick break but few beers later we noticed we spent few hours there. This place is a must go to if you in the area. I understood they are there only on Saturdays tho...
