The Juma (Friday) Mosque in Baku’s Old City is a serene, modestly sized historical gem dating back to the 12th century, its the first masjid of Azerbaijaan and reconstructed in 1899 atop earlier Zoroastrian temple remains . Its interior, featuring a conical dome supported by four pillars and richly carved façades, creates a tranquil atmosphere ideal for reflection and prayer . مسجد الجمعة في شماخى - هو مسجد أثري يقع في مدينة شماخى بدولة أذربيجان. يعتبر أقدم مسجد بدولة أذربيجان. تم تسجيل المسجد كمعلم تاريخي وثقافي ذو أهمية للبلد من قبل وزارة الثقافة والسياحة في جمهورية أذربيجان.

🔸تاريخ البناء

تم بنائه في عامي 743-744، ويعتبر أقدم مسجد في المنطقة بعد مسجد الجمعة في دربند الذي بُنِى في 734 في جنوب القوقاز.

دُمِّر المسجد خلال زلزالي شماخى في 1856 و1902، وتم ترميمه لأول مرة من قبل قاسم باي حاجيبابايوف، ثم من قبل إيوسف بلوشكو.

كما تم ترميمه حديثًا بأمر من الرئيس الأذربايجاني إلهام علييف في 2010-2013 بعد أن أحرقه الأرمن في عام 1918. وتم افتتاح مسجد الجمعة في شماخى بعد أعمال الترميم في 17 مايو عام 2013، وشارك رئيس جمهورية أذربيجان إلهام علييف في مراسم الافتتاح

مساحة المسجد الحالية 804 متر مربع ومكون من طابقين. أثناء أعمال الترميم تم تزيين القباب الصغيرة بزخارف. يسع المسجد 1500 شخصًا
