One of Ganja’s most whimsical and Instagram-worthy attractions, the Bottle House (Şüşə Ev) is a delightful example of creative recycling and folk art. Built entirely from thousands of glass bottles embedded in concrete, this colorful house shimmers in the sunlight, creating a mesmerizing mosaic effect. Each bottle—carefully arranged in intricate patterns—reflects light differently, making the exterior shift in appearance throughout the day.

The story behind its construction (by an elderly man as a tribute to his late brother) adds a touching layer of meaning. While the interior isn’t open to the public, the exterior alone is worth the visit. The small garden around the house is well-kept, with benches perfect for snapping photos or simply admiring the craftsmanship.

Pros: ✔ Unique, photogenic landmark ✔ Free to visit ✔ Heartwarming backstory

Cons: ✖ No interior access ✖ Located slightly outside the city center (but easy to reach by taxi)

Verdict: A must-see for lovers of quirky art and offbeat travel experiences. It’s quick to visit but leaves a...

Gəncə şəhərinin Hüseyn Cavid və Qəmbər Hüseynli küçələrinin kəsişməsində yerləşən evin tikintisində 48 min butulkadan istifadə edilib.

Seyyah.az turizm portalı xəbər verir ki, "butulkalı ev" kimi tanınan, şəhərə gələn turistlərin diqqətini çəkən bu tikili 1966-cı ildə tikilib.

Evi Gəncə şəhər sakini İbrahim Cəfərov böyük vətən müharibəsində itkin düşən 26 yaşlı qardaşı Yusifin xatirəsini əbədiləşdirmək fikri ilə inşa edib. İxtisasca mühəndis olan və şəhər körpü-tikinti idarəsində işləyən İ.Cəfərov böyük zəhmət hesabına olsa da, həm doğma qardaşının xatirəsini əbədiləşdirib, həm də hər kəsin marağına səbəb ola biləcək yaşayış binası tikib.

Evin birinci mərtəbəsi 1952-ci ildə çay daşı və bişmiş qırmızı kərpicdən inşa olunub. Lakin, mühəndis ikinci mərtəbənin inşasında qeyri-ənənəvi tikinti materiallarından istifadə etməklə, insanların memarlıq zövqünü oxşayan və şəhərin bütün yaşayış tikililərindən fərqlənən bənzərsiz sənət əsəri yaradıb.

İ.Cəfərov evin inşasında 48 min ədəd müxtəlif ölçülü və rəngli butulkadan, Qara dəniz sahillərindən toplanılan balıqqulaqlarından, Soçi şəhərindən gətirilən xırda rəngli daşlardan, əlvan şüşələrdən, kiçik güzgülərdən istifadə edib.

Binanın fasadı, eyvan və tavanındak müxtəlif rəsmlər, eləcə də İbrahimin və qardaşı Yusifin hərbi geyimdə olan portreti vaxtilə həmin məhəllədə yaşayan rəssam Nazim Məmmədov tərəfindən çəkilib. Binanın arxa divarına butulkalarla işlənən “Moskva 80” yazısı göstərir ki, memar "butulkalı ev"in ikinci mərtəbəsinə sonradan bir sıra əlavələr edib.

İ.Cəfərovun nəvəsinin sözlərinə görə, o vaxt bu evə Azərbaycanın tanınmış insanları gəlib. Hətta indi də bir çox ölkədən gələn turistlər bura baş çəkirlər.

"Butulkalı ev"də diqqət çəkən məqamlardan biri də odur ki, memar tərəfindən fasadın yuxarısında, arxa və yan divarlarında butulkalarla "Gəncə" sözü işlənib. Baxmayaraq ki, Gəncə şəhərinin adı 1935-ci ildə sovet hökuməti tərəfindən dəyişdirilərək Kirovabad adlandırılırdı. Şəhərin tarixi adı isə yalnız 1989-cu ildə...

This is a private house of a person who has built the walls of the house with bottles and stones.

He has a collection of photographs and feedback obtained from visitors from various countries.

He even asks you with a tea once you arrive.

Further, he will take a round trip and show things.

In addition, he will take photographs with the recommendation of specific poses.

It looks like just another house on the side of the road.

You can drop here while passing this area.

Travelling a long distance just to see this house will...

Five star fun for five manat for the walk around the first floor balcony area and have your host be your photographer. A fascinating insight into the imagination and the refusal to stick to convention. Take your time and have a really good look at the regular building materials and the glass bottles incorporated into the house.

Masterpiece of art. Possible to see the inside and have photos at the balcony. Just ask the owner who is the grandson of the architect that built it, very friendly family.
