Gabaland — Attraction in Sheki-Zaqatala

We made a day trip from Baku. Took morning train on Sunday and then evening one back. This park looks underwhelming at first glance but it's anything but. It's surrounded by beautiful mountains and the roses planted and other flora of the park is exquisite. Tbh it's more about the location then the rides themselves that make this place special. It was pretty crowded that day. It's 26 azn for foreigners. No instructions regarding ticket conditions were displayed at the ticket counter. We were told verbally that we were able to understand little bit. There is currency exchange machine that no body knew how to operate. No map of the park was provided as customary at other such parks. There were faded maps throughout the park but kind of confusing. Some rides like go karting and areas like petting zoo, one needs to pay extra. We enjoyed rest of the rides immensely. It became cloudy, drizzling a bit. We spent hours in skating rink. Laser shooting game was another highlight. Some rides had queues that were managed well. Staff is courteous and dilligent. No option for a meal in the park. Just snack shacks, insanely expensive. Gabaland is by far the worst theme park I’ve ever visited. Most rides were closed, and the entire operation feels discriminatory against tourists. Locals pay a lower entry fee and aren’t subjected to the strict 90kg weight and 50-year age limit imposed on foreigners if you exceed either, you’re only allowed a ‘walking ticket’ and barred from entering.

To make matters worse, ride operators were rude, openly letting locals cut lines while ignoring tourists. There’s no park map, no helpful staff, and barely any functioning attractions making the ‘reasonable’ ticket price a complete rip-off. Save your time and money; this place isn’t worth the...

The place is just average. Price 26 manat for foreigners and 16 for local residents. Only 3 rides are worth the thrill. XD theater was closed. The slide was closed. Many rides were very very slow. The overall experience was fine. People were helpful. We wanted to use the swimming pool but it was 10 per person. We had kids who can't swim just sit nearby and they wanted to charge them 10 per person even if we just bring them in so we can take a bath. Rules are still not proper thoughts. I need to make many many adjustments to improve my overall experience. It will take time but has the potential to become a big...
